If I have to say something about koreans, is that, they are probably the most skillful players in the world (gaming), and they make quite some money off of this, sure call me nerdy, but this type of gaming is all about skills, eye-hand coordination, speed etc. not many can do this even if they train for years and years, it's not a thing you can pick up in 2-3 years, must respect that :)
Cheers to Existence! Yay! lol. Good vid. I've been to Japan and SKorea a few times (and my fiancé is Korean), and I'll tell you what, you are spot on with the patriotism with Koreans (from my pov). It's kinda funny really though. How'd you end up in Japan anyway?
I am a Korean-American dude who lives in Tokyo now. I've been watching your wonderful videos from few years ago and I wanted to tell you that I really enjoy it.
The more common pronunciation is Busan, but it can be both. P and B have the same letter in the Korean alphabet. A book that explains a lot about Korean behavior is 'The Koreans' it's a good book.
It's a bit like Greece and Turkey what you were talking about... Trust me, it goes on all the time and is sucks.. Fanatics on both sides always get in each other's hair. Good video.
Like others have mentioned, some Koreans are still angry with the actions of Japanese soldiers in Kora during WW2 and some Japanese people refuse to accept that their soldiers did what they did. As for Koreans being more nationalistic I think the civil war in the 50's is to blame. Nations fearing that a new conflict could kick off at any time will play more on nationalism to show each other that their proud and will defend their countries. North and South Korea is using it to warn each other.
Koreans as well as other Asian peoples still hold grudges (not all I understand) for what Japan did to them before WW2. My friend was thrown out of a Korean bar when he told them he had a Japanese wife.
its like the Canaidan American beef... things that are familar kinda push away eachother.... i made the mistake of wearing jeans which i sewed a Japanese flag to and it was really hard to get directions..... good to see where you @ and i got your white rabbit back.... we been to alot of the same places, Hawaii gun range... yeah mang i know what you talking...
Pretty sure you don't have to leave the country anymore to get a visa changed. I've heard that recently you can do it in Japan. (from a tourist visa to other visa).
yeah I heard about that fire in Korea on the news this morning. Didn't find out how it happened, but that's pretty sad.. Couldn't find the exit, or passed out from the toxic fumes from the bullets exploding form the fire. . Hopefully your contest gets a good response, I think the internet and youtube now is a very powerful tool. Should be taken advantage of.
Japan made Koreans their slaves in the early 20th century. So this is the way I look at it...Koreans are like the blacks (in America) and the Japanese are like the whites (in America)
I just sat back with my brekkie and a cuppa to watch this video and it was a nice start to my day. I like listening to you just chat about stuff.
That part about your haters was amusing. :) Worrying about being called a "weaboo" or "wapanese" and shit like that actually stopped me from talking openly about my interests for a long time. The way you deal with haters and the supportive community here has given myself (and I think many others) the confidence to get involved.
Victor, I'm a bit offended cuz I'm Canadian and u're saying that we're the cause of the American & Canadian rivalry. Americans are NOT apathetic towards us, many times have I seen Americans voluntarily hatin on us for reasons I still don't know! I think its a mutual thing, so u shouldn't make Canadians look so mean :(
Really? I can't blame Canadians for being embarrassed for being mistaken for Americans -- especially internationally speaking, for what our government does. I'm just saying that that from what I've seen Americans really like Canadians.
No offense intended. I have family in Canada too! We love teasing each other.
Interesting video. I already saw the one about the contest and I checked out the website already... I might get those flashcards as soon as I get the chance. They might really help my Hiragana studies.
hey gimmeaflakeman ^_^ I just really wanted to say, I love these blogs! I hope that one day we'll be able to enjoy sipping some whisky and having a chin wag together soon! ^_^ Thank you for all your hard work and the uploads! ^_^ [x]
It's written 부산, and the ㅂ can be romanized as either a b or a p. This is why on some maps it's written as Pusan and on others as Busan.
Regarding the dislike for Japan here in Korea, it stems from the occupation in the first part of the 20th century and all the shit that went down here. Koreans have an intense national pride as well. One issue that is still of debate is Dokdo.
There are tons of ranges here in Korea. I've even shot at the one in Lotte World!
it was funny when your hand was on your face on the right side of the screen (when you were talking about haters), with bob marley doing the same thing on the left side of the screen lol, (on the wall behind you)
Japan and Korea have some bad history (I think Japan occupied Korea), and they are currently having a huge argument about a tiny island. Perhaps that's why here is friction? It seems like Koreans resent the Japanese more than the Japanese resent Koreans.
The hate between some Japanese and some Koreans? I'm guessing it has something to do with the 35 year occupation and colonization of Korea by Japan, forced name changes, forced prostitution, attempted replacement of Korean language with Japanese, deadly medical experiments, famine, looting, forced labor, etc, etc.
Victor, what's the SINGLE BEST drink/liquor you've ever had (MOMENT in Victor's history)?, and, #2, the SINGLE BEST liquor-brand to Maggie's-poop-slave (Victor) / you've had? =P

I think Japan should forget about any possibility of getting along with Korea. South Korea even can't get along with North Korea.

You should try a Glenlivet some time. It's smoother and sweeter (if you're interested in that). If you're into smokier ones a Laphroaig is awesome.

Yep, Koreans are uber-nationalistic and in a very unhealthy way!
Cool to hear you are going to be getting some more media focus! look forward to the Japan Times interview.

Chanting U.S.A at every little event that we are in doesn't make us loud or pompous that's crazy talk.
That was all sarcasm.

Americans in general seem to be really supportive about guns, and as soon as you say anything they start flailing about "protecting their family" etc.
Makes me lol. I dont see the point.
