  • Thumbs up if you think the music at 0:29 and 1:36 is catchy! :)

  • We had neighbors in 1984 that owned one and I remember how primitive it made my Commodore 64 look by comparison.

  • Face Time on that shit xD

  • Rip steve, but i always thought these commercials made it sound like macs were for people who are computer illiterate lmao

  • @cptpikirk Well, they did because they were. In 1984, that was most everyone!

  • @cptpikirk haha maybe that's why the apple stores have the one-to-one training service!

  • lol if you went back in time and showed a person in the 1980s a Mac... they would be like.... :O !!!!! or even a playstation 3 with video games from now!! lol

  • thumbs up if you wish you had the original macintosh :)

  • @MrTyler8782 but the Macintosh was released when Steve Jobs had long hair. See video "the original Macintosh"

  • @MrCelroy Yup! My Dad got to meet Steve when the Macintosh came out. He got a picture with him.

  • computer mouse was a star back then

  • 30 years later.... my parents purchased one. they were so proud of how fast and amazing it was. i tried to load a video game i like HON........ it almost works on the lowest settings.

  • at first i wold have said paint on windows 98

  • But will it blend ?

  • Will this computer support iTunes?

  • its quite weird to watch it on a Macbook....!!

  • why is it black n white for a long time?

  • My dad has the 84 and one day we actually tried it and it works!!!! Lol

  • Cool!!!!

  • and all those without an index finger...? never mind

  • Isn't their "A computer for the rest of us" belittling? Or is that just me. :P

  • haha my mom still has her 1984 macintosh. she doesn't use but it does still work.

  • 1:10 32 bit micro processor! XD

  • @LaxGod1212 LOL! My Powerbook Lombard isn't even 24-bit!

  • wait soo steve jobs came up with the mouse wow what would we be without jobs may he rest in peace

  • @irvin295 No disrespect intended, but the Mouse and Graphical User Interface were invented at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, allong with many other things you wouldn't beleive (basically all of modern computing). The Xerox Alto computer built in 1973 (Yes, 1973!!!), already incorporated all of the main features of todays computers. In 1979, Xerox decided to share it's technology with the world, and EVERYBODY just copied it.

More or less... google it :)

  • @irvin295 xerox actually had a comtract with apple and got the mouse from them they did not copied

  • @dantenoc But still, it was Apple who brought it to the world

  • but will it blend.

  • I think these old adverts sum up apple customers in general, products for retards who cant understand anything else.

  • @lordaslett Well I hope you're not using a computer with a GUI, else you're a hypocrite.

  • Thank you Steve! Apple actually DOES innovate contrary to anti-Apple people.

  • @Aussieisbest94 Its from 1984 :p

  • dear santa.....

  • think different:apple

  • 2:25 That is still a hell of a lot to read...

  • @TheInternetIsMagic wait till you see how to use "Einac" the first computer.

  • @MrCelroy Its actually called ENIAC. Electronic Numerical Entigrator and Computer...

  • @MrTyler8782 Actually i got the whole thing wrong, the first computer is the " Atanasoff-Berry Computer"

  • @MrCelroy I've read about that computer before. Its GIANT! And over 30 tons. Much like the ENIAC.

  • THUMBS UP if ur watching this on MAC :)

  • like if youre watching this in 2011

  • Apple should make a modern version of the 1984 Macintosh. Maybe a Steve Jobs remembered model or something. It has the same shape, but modern styling. Maybe with Steve's date range thing.. I dunno.

  • Wow...

  • 2:10- 2:25, its still something to learn, but its little right? i thought they wouldn't put any books but its a little bit.

  • ya but if you went back in time and showed them the new mac you would have only brought yours , and they couldn't really get alot of new ones, and they would have to wait or something like that. you know what i mean?

  • @subway904 no it's mac os 1984 version

  • its better then a 2010 PC thumbs up if you think mac was, is and always will be the best

  • @22raptorairsoft i think it still is the best.

  • 1:18 - 1:20 why could it have stayed like that?

  • thumbs up if u r watching these on a pc XD

  • @DeathMachine1122

Not me. I am watching this on a potato.

  • @DeathMachine1122 Thumbs up if it makes you sad

  • lol wat if i went back in time in the middle of theis add and showed them the newest iMac? they would be like Screw this mac lets get the new one!

  • BUT will it blend ?!

  • @earlypeeps yes, probably not mint, but yes you can.

  • "And the real genius is that it costs half as much as computers half as powerful!"

Now, look at what Macs cost...

  • Woah

  • Freaky!

  • ok, so as macintosh the first company to introduce the mouse with the button on it?

Also, who wouldn't love to take their new macbook airs and new desktops back to the 80's and then in 20 years time we would have some kind of futuristic "super computer" on each of our desks today, and maybe let a few people owe and awh first though :)

  • @MegaSleepy1234 Apple made the Macintosh, Macintosh is not a company. The Lisa was actually the first, but much more expensive and large.

Yes, the Lisa and Macintosh were the first "modern" computers with a GUI interface.

  • In those days parts were still welded by hand :) ... Imagine why the computers were so expensive then :)

  • 1 dislike, 1 Bill Gates.

  • PLEASE REPLY!

WHICH IS THE COMPUTER AT 2:11

  • @The007sanjeev 20th Anniversary Mac

  • @ccraig412 NO NO NO

  • @computertechdude1234 Yeah my bad. I was thinking of another one close to it. :-x

  • @ccraig412 lol. ok

  • @The007sanjeev IBM 5150....truly an ugly computer if you ask me...

  • Hah...my magic mouse with 5 buttons 2gb of RAM and 2.8GHz processor...much different

  • Apple 4 the rest of us :)

  • i used to have one of those. i would get on my juno dialup email with it back in college haha. traded it for a set of golf clubs. I've done more with the golf clubs.....

still play with that same set of clubs too....

  • There selling point? A mouse.

  • I like how their selling point is "you are less intelligent, you wouldn't understand PCs"

  • Before the Macintosh I used the Digital Equipment. "computer" with plain keyboards and stupid terminals. What a change when the Mac came. God Bless Apple.

  • this mouse has one button. my mouse has three.

  • @AfroSamuraiTheMaster oh wow you are so cool...

  • @america123jeff you are so cool aswell, with your futile attempt to troll a month-old comment. good job

  • @AfroSamuraiTheMaster thank you. another good day of trolling.

  • I WANT ONE OF THESE :O

  • my fingers are crippled so i cant point that means i cant use the macintosh. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • Great video there! I love old commercails!! serrislly!!! I am abbssessed with them really. I like most old things. I dont usally tell my friends because I am a girl. But every day I ask my brother because he always knows when the macintosh came and was rellesed, and he knows how to FIX up my school's computer so ask me about your problumbs and I will ask mty brother on how to fix your problums and anwnser your questions!!!!!!!!!!! He is an expert on microsoft windows. He knows all about windows!

  • I would love to take a mate of mine back to the 80s to a PC Shop,

Mate: "Err i want a good mac"

    Shop "You Mean Macintosh"

    Mate "Yea, whats the specs"

    Shop"8MHZ Prosessor"

    Mate "Wha ... 8GHz ..."

    Shop "Whats a Ghz?"

Mate "I dont know, Whats a MHz?"

    Shop: "lol"

  • @sousuke121 Say that again?

  • ha, 32 bit microprocessor. i actually laughed at that.( 1:09 ) And OK, who the hell DISLIKED this video?

  • @alexesch123 bill gates

  • ha, 32 bit microprocessor. i actually laughed at that.( 1:09 )

  • @earlypeeps yeah i guess you can get them on eBay.

  • i lol'd at 2:08 .....highly sophisticated hahahaha the word is more sophisticated than the mac

  • "its more powerful"

One year later, Commodore introduces the Amiga.....

  • I want one . i have a ibm ps2 model 30 like it and it is cool

  • when they're talking about their specs, they make everything sound really bad

  • the thing that i still don't believe is that the original Mac was internally 32bits, and until this year i had been using a 32bit Pentium 4. the difference?? 27 years

  • @germangg952 it wasnt 32 bit it was actually 16bit but i dont know why they said 32

  • I would love to go back to the 80's, the computers were cool, the ads were cool, everything was just at the very begin and every new computer was promoted like the future became reality. Nowadays nothing really chocking happens...

  • @h4x0y You are just like me!!!!!

  • @h4x0y that sure is chocking.

  • @Caydius lol i didnt even notice. (english isnt my primary language so thats an explanation i guess)

  • @h4x0y Yes it does. Things still happen and they're amazing. Would you have ever thought that your assistant could be your phone? No. Yet people can't appreciate it at all. It's not "the iPhone 5 so it's not good enough."

  • @love2liveit The complexity is lost. Very rarely are there people that appriciate just what technology is doing for them. Many of the kids growing up are using dual-core phones. I suppose that just means I am getting old and should be phased out for the next generation. Thanks Steve... :[

  • One of the reasons I never liked Mac. They sensationalized a Neanderthal mentality - basically saying "Stupid people can use it, too!" and focusing on making a "stylish" product.

  • macintosh, the computer for the rest of us !!!

  • i cant imagine someone installing Mac OS X on one of those

  • The most advanced business computer in the WORLD!
