  • Great film, i saw it when i was 5 on video and is one of my fave Sci-fi horror films! does this movie remind anyone of the animated film "Akira"?

  • Stephen King FTW.

  • After reading this book its amazing to think that the movie "Push" wasn't in some legal battle from essentially stealing directly from Firestarter.

  • I love the concept of Lot Six. It sounds a lot like the things they do now days.

  • awesome but shows too much for those haven't seen it

  • RIP Dino De Laurentiis. The music by Tangerine Dream is PERFECT!

  • Excellent!

  • Terrible trailer. It sounds like something Phil Collins would compose.

  • one of the baddest trailers ive seen

  • Wow! SCI-FI/Thriller classic from the old good 80s. Drew Barrymore showed brilliant acting. The same with David Keith and Martin Sheen. Drew was the best kid actor I've ever seen - way better than Macaulay Culkin, Elijah Wood and Dakota Fanning together.

    Firestarter was superb film.

  • Id love 2 start fires

  • book is awesome drew barrymore was so young compared to now movie is also awesome

  • This movie was good. The soundtrack was AWESOME!!!! TANGERINE DREAM RULES!!!!

  • I read the book and it's very good. I like rainbird 'cause he's insane xD but is the movie as good as the book? 'cause i'm planning to get it. answer please!

  • Yes, its really really good! Hopefully you can get it, because i cant find it anywhere

  • It is incredible what you have done! You are very gifted......

  • I saw the Movie before I read the Book.. Both the Movie and Book are awesome but I like the book a Bit better since the Character of Rainbird is way more Sinister..

Other than that excellent story by Mr King..

  • ''excellent''

  • After watching this movie..it is easy to see how many movies have copied the ideas. The bullets stopping-The Matrix, the fire-X-Men. This shit was classic.

    Had that 80's feel.

  • Quality movie! George C Scott as Rainbird is madman! rocks.....

  • sorry to burst your bubble, but x-men existed before this was written, so it really didnt copy. Also, Pyro couldnt create fire, he could only manipulate it.

  • @jrunberg how the fuck could they copy x-men?

the x-men movies are based on comic books.

    maybe you could read some

  • @MegaDev2010 you mad?

  • @jrunberg

Let's not forget the 1987 Japanese animation cult classic "Akira" which was influenced by the novel and the film borrowed from this

  • The name of the sinister government agency was The Shop,I loved it when David Keith's character blinded the two agents who were kidnapping his daughter,You're Blind!!!

  • Please add the whole movie!!

  • I don't know which is better the book or the movie. Thank You.

  • now i'm reading the book ,the i'll watch the movie xD it's very interesting

  • Wow stephen king is the best ?? becoz u know if its a stephen king movie or not just by its story line memmories ,nostalgia , friendship .....creates a terror out of the ORDINARY SIMPLE THINGS OF LIFE

  • I just bught this movie its really good haha

  • does anyone know if she exists?

  • excellent book. with the exception of the theme, this movie hardly lives up to the greatness that was the book.

  • I finished firestarter recently, and Andy Mcgee's "Push" Sounds like an awesome power! (Exept for the headaches)

  • I used to make love while watching this movie.

  • I love the book!

  • I'm almost finished with the book! the book is amazing!

  • @ponyboychick i just read the book for an essay and it was AMAZING

  • @Ferrari8675309 Yeah, I love how King described what Charly was feeling, when her pyrokinesis was active. It felt so real.

  • the book is great

  • hey does anyone know what u have to type in on youtube to get the music up from the begging of this video

  • I love a lot of movies and series, and other things my parents used to like(and im 14. My dad has showed me Patton, Where Eagles Dare, The great escape movies, and Hogans heroes from the 60s and 70s. He told me he watched it every saturday morning as a kid. i love the show. and this movie i love too, i think the ending is so sad, when her father dies, but im happy that she goes to the New York times at the end, and is adopted by the farmer. I love the show little house on the praire as well.

  • I loved this movie when I was a kid, but I was paranoid for years because my mom was a postal carrier and when Rainbird killed the mailman I got really upset and told my mom she was never allowed to stop and help anyone having "car trouble" on her route. Scarred for life I was by that scene!!

  • Shit, I hope Rainbird would be the same in the novel, with only one eye, a devastated face with a sadistic spirit.

  • what i said was wrong but the track is right he he

  • this is wrong

  • hey dumbasses the opening track is called THE CYRSTAL VOICE by tangerine dream

  • this movie used to freak me out, i still love it though and the 2nd one

  • One Of My All Time Favorites!!!!

  • I am still haunted by this movie from my childhood. The part where they promise the girl that her dad is leaving from the facility is fucked up. This movie might be somewhat old, but the theme is still current and still very relevant. All sci-fi aside and in the realm of paranormal, government experiments are very real and that is why I live by the Philosophy of Jason Bourne.

  • love that music. its so dreamlike.

  • I prefer book to film. But both are great.

  • the Shining remake sucked ass!

  • i think the book was better but u have to give drew barrymore credit. it was a good movie dont get mee wrong but the book gave more detail.

  • the music for firestarter is awesome.

  • i love you for saying this

i play this over and over again listening to to it

  • Dude same with me i love that music!

    It's awesome 80's music

  • Amen to that!!

  • Just read the book people.

  • Is this a full book or one of his short stories.

  • full book

  • thanks

  • you welcome

  • Firestarter was my favorite movie as a kid Drew was so cute this movie, green mile, and misery, in my opinion are the only good king books that actually worked a a movie

  • what about the Shawshank redemption?

  • the shining and the stand are awesome too.

  • I wasn't that big on the stand but I did feel the shining remake was better than the original

  • The Dead Zone was pretty good as well.

  • What about IT i thought that was pretty good, but to be honest i have just read the book and it is much better than the screen versiion

  • That is what I mean some of his books are to complex to turn into movies they should stay books one example is it as well as needful things which was a great book but did not do too well as a movie

  • Anyone know where i can find the movie??

  • The book reads like Chris Claremont's writings for the Uncanny X-Men. Makes you kind of feel like you're a pyrokinetic yourself. If anything here, the soundtrack does the book and film justice.

  • I've already read the book 3 times, i love it. I havent seen the movie, hope it's good

  • Does the movie show the events of the story in order or does it have flashbacks like the book?

  • What is funny is that the movie Firestarter is very faithful to its source material. I don't understand why this movie wasn't more successful.

And by the way, I would rather have the "Mental Domination" ability than the gift to start fires...but that's just me.

  • god i haven't watched the movie, and i just started reading the novel. actually, i'm pretty much done with it, but i am truly thrilled by it, i want to finish the book first, before watching the movie, just to make some comparitions. i don't to have the same dissapointment as i had with the davinci code!!!

  • In the Davinci Code the book I couldn't past page 21.

  • In order to get through Davinci code you have to read angels and demons first makes the second book more enjoyable and is langdons first adventure it's better too.

  • is angels and demons good. Becuz I never herd of it.

  • It is VERY good it is langdons first adventure Da vinci code is the 2nd it only became popular because of the controversy but angels and demons is better and makes you understand Langdon better. It also helps u understand that Davinci code is mostly fiction and clearly dan brown does not like the church or organized religion. has very believable info in that one is well but he tell you it's not real. It's about the Illumanati

  • i love this movie. prime eighties cheese

  • i just started reading the book and was wondering if the movie was any good

  • From what I can remember it was not so good.

  • Really loved this film when i was a kid. Read the book twice.

  • i love the music! Tangerine Dream is awesome!

  • God there is a difference with the E.T girl and this one!

  • I love what Drew Barrymore's character did in this movie.

  • did dino de laurentiis really make this movie?

  • The sequel is called Firestarter:Rekindled, and it sucked ass!

  • Yea, Like 20 years later. I wished they had Drue Barrymore in the Firestarted Rekindled. Then the movie wouldn't suck.

  • i just bought this movie on DVD.The music was great,by Tangerine Dream. The sequel, with Marguerite Moreau, sucked ass! Follow the original story ppl! Rainbird DIED...she burnt his ass to a crisp!

  • they need to make a REMAKE A MOVIE ON THIS

  • I second that!

  • ah they did dude it went straight to dvd like when they remade carrie

  • i was in love with drew in this film when i was a kid. lol

  • Whats the name of this TD song?

  • Crystal Voice dude!

  • for sandiabebe the movie is not shit youve just been staring in the mirror a little too long

  • The cutting could be much better.

  • This definetly has the look of a Dino De Laurentiis film. Also I never noticed the old guy talking about the end of the world is the same guy who played Thurfar Hawatt in DUNE another Dino De Laurentiis presents movie from the early 80's

  • The music in backround is very nice, and Heather Locklear is nice too. :))

  • I LOVE Tangerine Dream music

  • Heather be thy name!

  • the movie looks like shit, but the book is veryy good.

  • Yea...i wish they would re-make it, all the old movies are so Americanized.

  • Excellent job. I just read the book, and I definitely have to watch the movie now!

  • Is the oldest version available anywhere??? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the music that is being played while George C Scott is talking about the power of the gods. The same music plays when he first comes to Charley disguised as a housekeeper and in the scene where Charley meets the horse Necromancer. Beautiful music.

  • Its kinda sad that the soundtrack version of the main theme is a different version than the one used on the film.

  • oh f you... way to give away that they were both SHOT!! nice trailer but sheesh... it's a trailer no need to ruin it for me :( :( thanks for uploading all the same.

  • Neither of em died there, ya kno....

  • intense

  • Cool. I plan on reading this book soon. I read about it on Wikipedia and it's seems very interesting.

Maybe I will rent this movie.

  • OMG. so it is Drew.

  • I like how you did this, very nice :) Love firestarer!!
