I remember seeing this on TV as a kid. The story about the Chupacabra coming out of the outhouse and wanting to eat the guy, and the re-enactment that they showed, fucking terrified me. I couldn't sleep for days. Those fucking red eyes, man!

I think it's a disease or parasitic microorganism or insect that's causing the damage, which is the scary part. As for the animal sightings, it could be ringtails, dogs, peccaries, raccoons, jaguars, coyote, or puma, which are pretty freaky at night.

El Cupacabra is probably not an alien, even with its knowledge of the bodies systems, it could not get to Earth. It is way too complex for a genetic experiment or mutation. So I beleive it is either an undiscovered species, or a relic from earths past, as most cryptids are supposed to be. Oh, and these incisions are way too complex for a reguler person to do as a prank or hoax.
