Hey BP, Great photos and fantastic jazzy music! I also like the animated titles and dates. What an exciting trip you took last year! Thanks for sharing! ~bundun
Do a lot of people speak English? I'm going for two weeks, and am only in my first year of Mandarin Chinese at my High School. I'll know the basics, but still am curious.
beijing is such a beauty... how do i go around place? are taxi drivers honest? or do they have buses similar to hkg (with the electronic pass)? im planning to visit next year! ty
If you do not speak Mandarin, I suggest you hire a tour guide or something like that, it's much more convenient. And yes, taxi drivers are honest. As for buses, I dunno.
check out beijing's nice shopping places, 'Shi Mao Tian Jie' 'Da yue cheng' 'Guo mao' 'Lan se gang wan' and somewhere near 'Gong ti'. and if you love club& pubs, then go to 'Hou hai' or 'San li tun'!!
It depends on what kind of vacation you like. America is indeed great, lots of shopping and other stuff to do, but Beijing is all about visiting places. If you're the kind of person who likes to visit museums etc, Beijing is the right place for you.
Totally wrong, everyone know china is the best place for shopping because their cheap price and the stuff you can never imagine in America. China has most of products collection from all of the world, especially asian stuff, but America only have basic necessary stuff that they can accept. I watched this video and notice you pretty much wasted your trip if you are looking for entertainment because the most amazing/entertainment places are not what shown in videos.

well, If you're at a 5 star hotel, they will know how to skeap basic English, but I'm sure you'll do fine if you know how to speak a little Mandarin.
