sounds like a peeing ticking clock. needs to be slower and a sharper impact crack when it empties.

as it is true these things are meant to be slower, it does remind me of the tic toc of my great grandfathers... uh, no pun intended, grand father clock, in his old study. This shishi is more of a time piece; time... a human invention to calculate the passing of our lives and it can change or end at any moment of any one of these clicks. perhaps its timing is intended as stark reminder of its passingand we should waste it? hmm.

A proper shishi odishi should make a high pitch clear sound and should take longer between every cycle.

I hate the speed of it :( saw mostly slow peaceful ones on my trip to Japan, I liked their "dunk" 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,"dunk" 2, 3, 4...etc. it was so relaxing!

it looks really nice, but next time you might want to make it a bigger tube so it makes a better sound. also you could put the pivot forward a little, so that there is more force in the fall.

Hi, I made it. All you need is a basin, a little water pump, some bamboo and rocks. And some hand skill.
