  • yeah, usually those things are donated. usually when someone thinks, "i'm going to buy the sisters a gift!" they think along the lines of religious statue or new crucifix for the chapel. they don't usually think, "oh, why don't i buy the entire community new habits? that sounds practical!" and anyways, if they all had nice, expensive habits, for uniformity's sake, that means everytime someone else joined the community, they'd have to keep buying nice, expensive habits. and sisters have to eat.

  • Seriously? Your ignorance is rather sad. I think it un-fair that non-Catholic Christians can shove ideology into the faces of Catholics, yet they will not spend one second on looking into why Catholics practice what they practice. May you find your way back to Rome, sweet home!

  • For real! I totally agree... My boyfriend was a strong Protestant and when he started dating me he had no choice but to start looking in the Catholic Church. I never pushed him once but the minute he started looking, he never looked back. He's becoming Catholic and starting RCIA. He says that it's not turning one's back on the Protestant belief, just fulfilling what was started.
