I wish I could remember exactly what model cam, but it was a few years ago. I remember it was an Arri and we shot on super-16.
It's certainly a good feeling to shoot in film, even 16mm. It feels a lot more like 'real' filmmaking. I guess that's because you know that even after a hard days shoot all it takes is for the film loader to fog the film and it's in the bin. I like the way that even the most simple task is as important as the 'biggest' things in the process.
maybe the flashbacks shouldve been done in a filter with less saturation as apposed to glowing, maybe look a little better/ just throwing that out there
Nick, you are totally right. As this was a student film it suffered from being made by committee, and I turned up to the online edit to be told it was locked like this. I was pretty pissed and it is one of it's biggest failings.
However, for a student flick with a budget about as big as a happy meal I think over all it wasn't too bad. I've got to take my hat off to my crew to go with a darker subject matter when they could have just made a fairytale or something...
Yea.. Ive been there. Its nice you shot on film. What camera if you dont mind my asking?
