  • Thanks for the video, I just removed one of these bastards with a stanley knife and 40 minutes of cutting through the exterior plastic. Drill is now on my shopping list ;)

  • What are these? My dad bought some bottles at Walmart and one of them had these things left on, lol he took it off with a screw driver but what are they lol will they blow up or something haha

  • 3598 shoplifters like this lol I was always brought up if you can't afford it you don't have it

  • Another good tip for those without drills, using a lighter, burn the top face all long the part where the blue bit ends until the plastic is bubbling, then pry this plastic open with a screwdriver. Using said screwdriver lever open the blue lock and there's one bottle of booze good to go. Did that just now in 5 minutes, if that, with a turbolighter and a flathead screwdriver. Hope this helps anyone without power tools!

  • we just had this problem.. honest to god.. just throw it on the floor bottle and all and it comes off every time

  • I tried this but it didn't work. The metal pin appeared to be well re-inforced and I couldn't get through it. This was with a cheap drill and cheap drill-bits mind. Ultimately I drilled enough holes in it that it gave enough pull off. Still it took me a good 40 minutes with the thing (I tried burning, drilling, hammering, chisels, screwdrivers). Ridiculous effort just to drink something I paid for! I don't think the neighbours will be too happy with all this late night handy-work!

  • THANK YOU SOOOO MUCHH!!!

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • cheers for this, was initially attacking it with a saw

  • HAHA, I just got back from Sainsbury's with one of these still on the bottle. The coloured plastic is really flamable.

I lit it with a cigarette lighter at one end of the joint (where it was drilled in the video) let it burn for a minute and then prized with a screw driver then it easliy broke open at the bottom, pulled out a white wire and two springs and it let go.

  • @MrJimmy321 - I've tried that myself but it started smoking heavily - I suppose no problem if one does it outdoors, thanks.

  • @genix08

    Yeah I done it outside.

  • Whoops, replied using son's account!!

  • Brilliant thankyou.

Just had a home delivery and the driver noticed it had the tag on an £18 litre of Absolut Vodka. He arranged for it to be credited then gave it to us saying it was the shops fault for not taking it off and also said something about getting a knife of chizzle to open it but this looks a lot easier.

  • @gobbyash - Hi, hope it worked for you - enjoy your vodka...

  • @genix08 - Yes it did. Many thanks once again.
