hey trigger i read ur guide on how to be a mage i am currently a ranged player but i am switching over to magic btw i am elf and on ur guide u kinda skipped out from elf perspective cause ice spear for elves is the most mana effeicnt no matter what rank for humans yea it is mana consumeing but at r1 we use less mana than humans do at r9 so should i start with maxing ice spear cause it is most mana effeinent for elves?btw UR F***in AWSOME!
@jking560 I do think he's rating it between the three advance magic. Even though it's really cheap MP, it's damage isn't as efficient as Thunder or Fireball.
lol i just like the ice spear aoe /effect plus at a full 5 charges it will do the dmg of 6.5 charges so kinda better than thunder at bigger mobs doesnt have aset number of monsters it can hit unlike thunder's 12 plus if some are pesky and survive they will just get frozen again by the 1s that die(so should i rank ice spear first then thunder of thunder than ice spear i cant make up my mind i am trying to deceide i already know i am gona rank fireball last just dont know about ice spear /thunder)
@jking560 Also keep in mind, Trigger's guide is written from the 'power solo-ers perspective', if you find yourself playing in parties a lot rather than soloing, then ice spear gains a lot of merit just because you can keep much of the monsters under control just by freezing them with one charge, which is pretty easy on mana.
Tthat boss was one of those flukes that happens now and then. If they don't all spawn close enough to each other to be hit by Thunder all at once, I'll use a pet to try to bring them closer together. Those Golems have minds of their own, though, and don't always cooperate, as you can see. =P
I know someone who's really a "master". Not in terms of grinding and level whatnot, but real skills and knowledge. Though I'm not saying who since it'd cause more drama and whatnot, but you just gotta trust me on this one :P. There's someone I know XD.
Trigger simply just gets to level 61 per rebirth, or so as he told me long time ago. Getting above 61 is just not worth the time and mana pots anymore. Him doing a little bit of melee saves a few or so pots. Moreover, as I remember him saying, he also buys 2x exp potion.
Personally what I'd like to conclude with what I'm saying is that Trigger is a smart player 8D. He gets to a certain weekly level goal with the least effort and time wasted.

Mabinogippl, Trigger's not really a hardcore grinder compared to some. And even then, master is a questionable term. In fact, I think we should all just drop the use of the term "master" or any idea that you can tag a player as the best. Everything is opinions considering how many valid facts can be used to dismiss each other's ideas.

I was first tagged "pro" back in Open Beta/G1, and I hated it. I didn't want to be pro, I just wanted to play as best I could without being one of the cliche "higher-ups." After a few generations passed and people didn't stop calling me pro, I realized there wasn't anything I could do and just decided to let things be. Pro isn't a title you give yourself, it's something other people call you.
No, a Master is a person eminently skilled in something. There are many masters of Mabinogi. People whom have spent a long time playing the game, and learnt great game mechanics and skills in order to skillfully play.
Trigger has a guide where you can learn from him.. instead of your redic watching the video constantly..
and frankly, I have no reason why you dislike Trigger and are full of envy.
and why no fireball/IS in the orb room or boss room? =[
Btw you can get approximately the same speed with less mana consumption using ice spear + pets as elf... especially if you count triple spawn rooms with no server lag. Downside is you can't ice spear bugbears or the boss rooms easily.
I used to chug mana elixirs a few rooms before boss/bugs as my elf, who ONLY had ice spear.
Mostly 'cause I didn't want to bother switching wands...if I had I would've used Fireball. I don't -always- use FB anyway, that just happened to be one of those runs.
Also forgot to mention: the much-touted ability of Ice Spear to take out three waves with one full charge is highly dependent on spawn pattern and Deadlies. One thing wrong and there goes your efficiency -- and in three waves, there's a lot that can go wrong. =P
Hmm... I'd disagree about mana efficiency partly because I can usually get an entire spawn with one IS + pets. If I remember correctly, I 5 charged snakes, 4 charged laghs, and 3 charged rat/ratmen. But being conservative meant trouble with the second spawn if it showed up...
Thunder is probably more time efficient, especially with the speed wand. Ice spear takes about 3 seconds to explode anyways, and I almost always rely on explosions to take out mobs...
btw what I meant by explosions was not luck... just timing and getting spawns into position to get iced on the first explosion. Sure kill with the numbers below since IS damage is predictable. "luck" is only a factor when you have multiple spawns like snakes and laghs who get hit by the 2nd-3rd explosion. then it gets "fun"/deadly ^_^
I'm soo glad I am not a person who is doing range for the "pr0h4x0rs" damage, because this video proved them all wrong. Another reason why I am a hybrid, magic is just too awesome

Nice. Although I still think that he shoulda went pure warrior, but still thunder all minibosses.
Ice Spear, Thunder, and Fusion are still very slow compared to windmill and FH.
Ice spear is good damage, but chain freeze takes awhile and you can't assist.

He levels up before his mana runs out. He doesn't even need the use of mana elixir until around level 50+ish.
Level Ups + Transformation in mid dungeon = MP recovery.
