@IcanhasKebab Public use, put your iPhone down on it and it downloads your photos or music so you can easily share with people.
Optical tags on the bottom of drinks glasses make it create a virtual coster with pull out info of things like winerys or the option to save the sometimes long name of wine to your phone or windows live spaces account.
Hotel lobbies, Bars, restaurants, shops and living room coffee table (Full TV guide on there and not blocking what you're watching).
The concept is to turn boring surfaces into intelligent surfaces, interactive adverts on walls like Minority Report perhaps or mabye keeping the kids busy by playing with the counter at a shop whilst you talk with a sales guy.
@aznhomboi It's finished but it'll be even better when they release the consumer version, perhaps with DDR3 memory and a Core i7.
They're also planning to make wall versions, I hope they do, it's such a cool idea.
We already have touchscreen terminals at the Centre:MK in Milton Keynes, maps and directions for new visitors and other info like job vacancies, sales and events.
I dont think the touchscreen is poor. You can see the application is focusing on the video windows. it is always on top. Thats why she can select the bottom picture.. I think it was designed so.. Maybe they think its not logical to play video and select bottom picture at the same time. You might forget theres a video running.
one day this will be so old

This is called "Microsoft Surface". It looks better in reality.
It was used in the latest James Bond movie Quantum of Solace as a nice MI6 gadget computer.

It doesnt look like the Microsoft Surface in the movie, more like a newer technology. This looks so unintuitive and user unfriendly.
good idea though, but not executed well, and there is no market for it at the moment

Actually, I think these would be perfectly integrated in tables at gimmicky restaurants.
