I just made the mistake of going into the castle... ran into a shield dragon... got owned.

i accidentally loaded a save state from before i entered galufs world, which reset the hard save to much before that... and then i accidentally overwrote the save state which was after the currect point... so i just jumped back before the earth crystal... fuckfuckfuck.

I find it interesting how Square Enix can make such epic games like final fantasy games and then make something as enjoyable but almost completely the opposite such as Star Ocean...the first one had insane encounter rates but was neeeded for the high levels needed by the end of the game

At one point when I played this game the encounter rate was so high I got in battles every three steps for like, 20 minutes. By the time I got where I was going I was almost horse from saying "What? AGAIN!?" or some other less socially acceptable comment.

Heh, those Sandcrawlers (the tough enemy in that desert area) aren't so tough. (case in point, they are Desert creatures if you catch my drift, plus they are not immune to death and one of the Gaia abilities when used in the desert inflicts death)

They are also vulnerable to stone, a casting or two and they'll most likely die.

The last time I played FFV, I used a Geomancer in my party almost the entire time. Sometimes, they attack all enemies, and sometimes a really strong attack on one enemy. Of course, sometimes they suck, too.

Please explain why you rather use combine than white magic. What combinations will you use?

The status effects of White magic aren't too useful for right now, so the only benefit it adds is multi-targeted healing, which I'm really not using. The Healing Staff replaces Cure 2 and I have yet to go over more combinations that can be used.

I might consider the first trilogy as a side LP series. I've also thought about playing the GBC remakes, since they have some added content and require less time spent grinding. Still, I would think it would be quite tedious, so I would need to see more support from my viewers for such a series.

Not only that, but I got the numbers wrong. Normally, a monster has to be below 1/8 max HP to be catchable. With the Corna Jar, you can do it at 1/2. I'll explain it when I can get it later.

I have chests that had very low amounts of money. If it the first areas then it would be understandable. But if it in the final areas of the game, then it real dumb. Such as in Star Ocean: TLH, I am in the area just before the final boss and found a chest that had 15 Fol (the money used in Star Ocean),

They've got quite a bit of HP. Chances are they'll mow down your party before you can whittle away all of their HP with Blowfish. Control is definitely the way to go.
