Yes, finally someone notices how terrible madden is. The other day i played espn nfl football and it ran much better than madden. I ordered 2k5 today off of amazon for 4 bucks. Madden has been getting worse every year. I stopped buying madden last year. The most recent one I have is 09 and i cant stand it. Such a shame they have the exclusive. I can only imagine where 2k would be now. Also, in pure gameplay backbreaker beats madden with its euphoria based engine.
2K5 is just a great game and every year i wish they would take the ESPN presentation from this game and apply it but instead they use a shitty halftime thing that i forgot the name of and In Madden 08 I thought they where taking the right moves towards making a good game because if you threw it to Moss or Fitz they would go up for it but when 09 came out I was glad they took those gold things out but they stop the catching featur and havent used that feature since but NCCA added it and its awesm

Put 2K5's football presentation, selectable options and gameplay with Natural Motion/ Backbreaker's Euphoria engine for interactions and tackling and you have a game that EA could not touch if you gave them another 20 years...sad fact is that EA is NOT interested in making anything more than what they have been doing, warming over old features and calling them "new"...

@BigSpilly I heard the contract for EA expires sometime in 2012. Keep in mind though the contract already expired and EA just extended it so hopefully they don't be assholes and keep extending it. I did hear however that 2K is already planning to make a new football game for 2012 so lets keep our fingers crossed.

yeah this game was legit BUT one serious problem that always pissed me off was what you just saw. Tall players wouldn't make the right catching animations and they ALWAYS missed the ball just like he did in the vid. Wide open in the middle of the field hitting a tall reciever and he put his hands low the ball hits em in the face.

Wow, the receiver actually tries to get open. Madden didn't do any of that. It was just mindless bumping into each other. Supposedly the CEO of EA has referred to Madden 11 being much different from the ones we've had so far. I don't particularly see how THAT will be possible but one can only hope.
I don't believe backbreaker is the answer , but it will be a new game to check out, it can't be any worse then madden89- 2010 i feel that backbreaker will be ok .
when madden11 comes out they will still sell millions but the millions will be selected many gamers are seeing the problems the game has and will be watching for them more closely then ever before, I'm sure ea will not put out a playable demo like last year i'm sure they will cut out replays due to madden 10 being exposed.
I stopped playing madden a long time ago, the game is rigged to cheat it's rigged to make you lose certain games simmed or played, i mean the cpu has picked games on the schedule that they will win reguardless of the situation.
i been playing football games since madden 89 so i have seen the best and the worst of them and madden has not really improved anything, i really wish allpro 2k8 had a franchise mode i wouldn't even wasted money on madden 09 or madden 10.
Ea has to rebuild the whole game like they did the mvp baseball game, but they will never do that it would have to work at it, that means making a real sim game. Look how mvp turned out the best baseball game at it's time.
Madden11 will have the same ai problems, notice the dev team has been quite silent because when you get exposed and caught silence is the only thing left. Instead of facing the music they hide in their offices avoiding comment.

Why? Why should we have to let go? It would be different if all of our Madden gripes were part of some fantasy wish list but the whole point is we know that it can be done better than what it is, the technology is there. I just hope somebody sues the pants off of EA sports under the anti-competition/monopoly laws. If they are gonna have exclusive NFL rights, then they should automatically be held to a higher standard.

@mapmyp You don't know what you are talking about. EA signed an exclusivity deal with the NFL that prevented 2k from making NFL licensed games.
A year later 2k signed an exclusivity deal with the MLB that prevented EA from making MLB licensed games.
There was no agreement between the two companies , just EA screwing over 2k, then 2k trying to screw EA back.

yeah this game was legit BUT one serious problem that always pissed me off was what you just saw. Tall players wouldn't make the right catching animations and they ALWAYS missed the ball just like he did in the vid. Wide open in the middle of the field hitting a tall reciever and he put his hands low the ball hits em in the face.

small detail, doesnt seem like it would change the game much, unless your saying thats the reason he missed the ball. what i want changed is NFL Superstar. I loved Madden 06's superstar, but this one is shit. you cant even do anything. you either play a game, or practice, and practice isnt much either. so fucking boring. in 06 you can get houses, new agents, go to the gym, customize attributes, go to training camp, and even more.

NFL 2k5 Looks better then Madden 10. This game was great I bought it for my PS2 at the time and the Helmet view was sick!! Today I rather play NBA 2k or the Live series any day!

Wow, the receiver actually tries to get open. Madden didn't do any of that. It was just mindless bumping into each other. Kind of like the reveiver has a predetermined path that they just have to follow and if someone gets in there way they just keep running into the DB. EA just needs to get it right cuz im tired of this stuff.

yea play 2k5 on XboX and realize that it came out over 5 years ago and the graphics are still close to Maddens considering they dont even make it for the 360 or PS3 and the animations of running , Gang tackling and QB evasion to get linemn off your QB and make the big throw to your WR downfield

I don't believe backbreaker is the answer , but it will be a new game to check out, it can't be any worse then madden89- 2010 i feel that backbreaker will be ok .
when madden11 comes out they will still sell millions but the millions will be selected many gamers are seeing the problems the game has and will be watching for them more closely then ever before, I'm sure ea will not put out a playable demo like last year i'm sure they will cut out replays due to madden 10 being exposed.

I stopped playing madden a long time ago, the game is rigged to cheat it's rigged to make you lose certain games simmed or played, i mean the cpu has picked games on the schedule that they will win reguardless of the situation.
i been playing football games since madden 89 so i have seen the best and the worst of them and madden has not really improved anything, i really wish allpro 2k8 had a franchise mode i wouldn't even wasted money on madden 09 or madden 10.

Ea has to rebuild the whole game like they did the mvp baseball game, but they will never do that it would have to work at it, that means making a real sim game. Look how mvp turned out the best baseball game at it's time.
Madden11 will have the same ai problems, notice the dev team has been quite silent because when you get exposed and caught silence is the only thing left. Instead of facing the music they hide in their offices avoiding comment.

Why? Why should we have to let go? It would be different if all of our Madden gripes were part of some fantasy wish list but the whole point is we know that it can be done better than what it is, the technology is there. I just hope somebody sues the pants off of EA sports under the anti-competition/monopoly laws. If they are gonna have exclusive NFL rights, then they should automatically be held to a higher standard.
