I worked for a small business for years and I can tell you that many of them cut the wages of their employees while voting for a corrupt economic policy under Bush. These same policies hurt many of the low and middle income families who make up a huge portion of small business revenue. It is sad that many people voted for low taxes but were hit with hidden taxes like 4.00 gas when there were no supply or demand reasons for the high prices. By the way, both political parties were irresponsible.
The only thing that will save our economy is job creation. Any money spent by the government should be spent to create jobs that will fix our broken infrastructure. This will put people back to work and it will also create revenue for small businesses. The trickle down approach was thievery at the highest level. Many small businesses can blame themselves for buying into Bush style economics. The tax cuts gave them money in the short run but these same cuts damaged the country as a whole.

To create those jobs, it either does so directly through raising taxes, or indirectly through borrowing, which it later must pay back through taxes. In either case, the more government spends, the bigger burden it is on the economy and the people who create and work those jobs.

It would appear to me that our economic problems are more fundamental, and rising incomes are incidental at best. I have heard mention that you should save at least three months worth of food, but you should be thinking along the lines of a year. Buy food that will last a long, long time and store it. Put food that will expire first in front and eat it while replacing it with later dated food items going in back, always putting in more than you eat. Don't tell anyone you are saving food except closest family members. Even a friend will shoot you if things get really bad. Get seeds and plant a garden.

Hey that Rural Ranger book I suggested had a brillant idea in it. There is a product out that is called Survival Tabs which are basicaly little pills, there is 14 days worth of chow in a bottle the size of a Army canteen. You put one in a canteen carrier on your web belt along with your water canteen and this should be enough for you to walk out of about anywhere to a bug out location with maximum speed and minimal weight.

I agree with you. I feel things will get worse (soon). Trends forecaster 'Gerald Celente' has been telling people to prepare for the worse, buy gold, silver, be self sufficient, etc. He thinks that it will totally collapse by '2012' (when the manyan calender ends). What a coincidence. Regardless if u believe in this or not, we should still prepare. My spouse will be laid off soon, and jobs are scarce where we live (Hawaii). The homeless are piling up on the beaches and sidewalks. Scary.

Didn't that preacher say he condoned not stealing in general, but stealing from larger corporations like WalMart? Personally, I wouldn't feel that bad about stealing from a huge corporation like WalMart, but I would never steal from a mom and pop shop. I don't steal, I think it's immoral, but if faced with an immediate survival need, the last thing I'd be thinking about is WalMart's fiscal quarter earnings. Though I find it disturbing that a pastor would condone stealing at all.

I worked for a small business for years and I can tell you that many of them cut the wages of their employees while voting for a corrupt economic policy under Bush. These same policies hurt many of the low and middle income families who make up a huge portion of small business revenue. It is sad that many people voted for low taxes but were hit with hidden taxes like 4.00 gas when there were no supply or demand reasons for the high prices. By the way, both political parties were irresponsible.

The only thing that will save our economy is job creation. Any money spent by the government should be spent to create jobs that will fix our broken infrastructure. This will put people back to work and it will also create revenue for small businesses. The trickle down approach was thievery at the highest level. Many small businesses can blame themselves for buying into Bush style economics. The tax cuts gave them money in the short run but these same cuts damaged the country as a whole.

To create those jobs, it either does so directly through raising taxes, or indirectly through borrowing, which it later must pay back through taxes. In either case, the more government spends, the bigger burden it is on the economy and the people who create and work those jobs.

It would appear to me that our economic problems are more fundamental, and rising incomes are incidental at best. If a large sector of the population is out of work, it affects all aspects of a consumer driven economy. When I see private sector jobs start to come back, I might be inclined to believe you.

@skyding8962 I would define this recession as the result of a centrally controlled system based on fiat currency where boom and bust cycles are an inherent result. And these cycles will only continue to get worse until the currency eventually collapses. Such is the fate of all fiat currency systems. I believe we are close to seeing the end of ours. Bailouts may stave off the inevitable for a while, but always at the cost of the value of the currency.

I'm fortunate to still have a job, though my salary has remained the same for past 3 years. I'm driving a 2001 mini van, that works, Thank-you GOD! No new clothes, limited Christmas, but we're stocking food/ammo, harvesting rainwater, and planting a garden. If you're right then I'll be fine in the recovery. If I'm right, I'll eat. DEMCAD, you should look into storing dried food which can be restored with water; further, go to your local army surplus store and get C-rations which is compact, storable food that lasts for years, and years - this would alleviate storage space issues if a person lives in an apartment.

Perhaps the best way to prepare for the future is to follow that priests advice. Wait till you see someone that has prepared leave his home and break in and take all their preparations and their guns, then you will be prepared for the future. If someone knows where DEMCAD lives then you can 'prepare' very easily by waiting till he leaves. Don't forget the ammo belts behind the bedroom door either.

I have heard mention that you should save at least three months worth of food, but you should be thinking along the lines of a year. Buy food that will last a long, long time and store it. Put food that will expire first in front and eat it while replacing it with later dated food items going in back, always putting in more than you eat. Don't tell anyone you are saving food except closest family members. Even a friend will shoot you if things get really bad. Get seeds and plant a garden.

it is not as serious a sin, because of the motive, but still a sin, an offense. is better to ask for help and receive compassion than to steal and need compassion given.

This afternoon, on the MSM, I head that one in seven families are having trouble putting food on their table. (Google for the story.) Also, the USDA reported 49 million in the U.S. are going hungry. A few stories later, I heard the economy is improving. Huh?!
I think some of the really hungry and pissed off come looking for food/money any way they can get it eventually.
It's easy to buy a little extra food when I shop. I don't tell anyone I have my stash though.

10%unemployment the national norm.15%respectively or more in michigan.people will accept that in time.i would not doubt that the minim wage is lowered soon.food banks,shelters will thrive.on the other hand a select few will gain more wealth.food,security no issue.if they r hungry,let them eat cake.they will say.

Awesome vid Dem. On the News Hour with Jim Leher tonight was a interview on the state of commercial banks. A pundit, can't remember her name said that at least 1000 commercial banks are in trouble. So your estimate for 500 to 700 bank failures is conservative but in the ball park. Happy Holidays looking forward to more informative vids from you in 2010...

@nellynell77 I agree, good bows are at ROCK BOTTOM prices, I got 1 800 dollar bow and 1 600 dollar bow for less then 150 dollars each.
These will kill a DEER.
I got 200 arrows and they will kill do not go boom and can reuse the arrow. Plus you can shot with fire long distance set on fire a building or house or car.

Careful with the Kwanza wishing, there is a bitter truth about this peudo holiday most dont know. The guy was a maniac that tortured black women etc. google it,its a fact. Karenga gave an interview with the Washington Post. He was quoted saying, "People think it's African, but it's not, I came up with Kwanzaa because black people in this country wouldn't celebrate it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around Christmas because I knew that's when a lot of bloods would be partying."

Demcad I gotta disagree with you on stockpiling food, if people have a stash of food their less likely to revolt. We need people so fkin desperate to survive that they will take up arms, march the streets, storm the banks, hang treasonous traitors on the spot. Stockpiling ammo is great but food will only keep them docile just that much longer.

Hey that Rural Ranger book I suggested had a brillant idea in it. There is a product out that is called Survival Tabs which are basicaly little pills, there is 14 days worth of chow in a bottle the size of a Army canteen. You put one in a canteen carrier on your web belt along with your water canteen and this should be enough for you to walk out of about anywhere to a bug out location with maximum speed and minimal weight.
