  • can u make a brief tutorial on importing object from lightwave and sculpting/animating it..

  • What did happen on 6:05? The color changed?

  • @RAYXNUM1 I changed to the skin material in ZBrush. Skin02 I believe.

  • @eindoppelganger Thanks, amazing job by the way!

  • do you use a wacom? does that work for zbrush as it does in mudbox?

  • @stcandrew yes I do and yes it does :)

  • really impressive thanks for the share kinda get some techniques from ur works =) good job =)

  • Hey Scott, its been over a year since you gave me the advise on the Cintiq, and I have to say its been one of the best investments I have ever made. I can sculpt twice as fast so my skill progression has sped up. I also bought your book on anatomy last Christmas and it has helped me progress heaps in the past year.

So thanks so much for your advise and and your book was completely worth buying!

  • @u3190 Thanks for your note! Im so glad the advice and book helped!! :) Cheers! Scott

  • The one thing I wasn't sure of was how the texturing was done on the horns. You lay in a dark color over the hole surface, then subtract from the raised segments, kind of a digital version of a dark wash pass. Were you using a brush that ignores the deep areas and only effects the raised?

  • @Jcolinsol Im using Tool>Masking>Mask by cavity to mask out the high or low areas. There is also cavity masking under the brush menu but I prefer the tool menu version since it shows the mask itself.

  • @eindoppelganger

Cool, thanks very much for the info. I appreciate it.

  • Great work!

I think I will have to check out your book.

  • @Idiotforstander Thanks! :) I hope you like the book, there is a narrated version of this video included. FYI I have a second edition coming out in a few months as well.

  • Wow, I didn't realize you were the dude who created this famous model! Your work is awesome. It inspired me when I started 3 years ago. I have a question though, would you recommended buying a Cintiq LCD tablet for digital sculpting? I'm 16 and am going to uni in a year to study 3d modeling and animation.

  • @u3190 Thanks for the kind words!! A Cintiq LCD is a great tool for digital sculpting as well as painting. I have seen it have a delay when painting in Photoshop or Painter but in ZBrush it has been really useful. You can do great work without it though so don;t feel like its required to be a good digital sculptor.

  • @eindoppelganger

    Thanks for the info,

This feels like talking to a celebrity if you know what I mean.

I'll go for the cintiq then, probably when it comes down in price a bit.

Your awesome by the way XD

  • @u3190 hah thanks man, thats nice of you to say but Im just an artist :) Im really glad to have helped!

  • Thanks for uploading. I hope no one removes this.

  • @u3190 I wont remove it :) Its a free tutorial I made a while back so I like keeping it here.

You can find a narrated version in my book ZBrush Character Creation.

  • so good,nice!!!!

  • That is amazing. Thank you!
