SOMEONE QUICK TELL ME DOES IT HURT? I HAVE TO GO GET IT DRAWN TODAY AND I HATE NEEDLES BUT IVE GOTTEN SHOTS THAT HURT LIKE CRAZY AND THEY DIDNT HURT ME BUT DOES GETTING BLOOD DRAWN HURT??? :'(
@nightwishfan06 It does a little bit. I'm a pain baby, so numbing medicine is the only option for me if you want to get a blood sample and live to tell the tale, LOL
I usted to get blood draws alot untill i was 9 I untill. Then for about 5 years I never got a draw. Then last april I had to get 2 draws in sussicive mounths. even though I never got a draw in 5 years before these I still had crappy vains andthey draw off of my hands regardless of the amount of blood the need they always get me on the first attempt
and now as of tomarrow 3 draws in 4 mounths i am not diabetic just inconclusive resoults on some end and i am so scard of the trest resoults not positive or negitive but weather or not they will be inconclusive again
this year 2 draws 2 months again but this time COMPLETELY DIFFERENT tests
round 1 metalbalic and lipid (basic cholesteral) (last years 3 rounds ended with negitive (good) results) 2 tubes missed vain and minimal flow on the second attempt round 2 blood type test and urin tests (which got fucked up) the blood test actually went quite nicely this time
Must get a lot of blood work seeing they are using a very tiny needle. They have to do that with me as well as my veins are shot from being used too much (medical reasons). At least they found a vein. My veins have been collapsing lately :(
Advice: Move out of Australia! Anything that doesn't have 2 legs is poisonous there! Bad if you have allergies. I got anemic as a kid...too much sugar, really. It cleared up as I improoved my diet. Also, you may find better medical care elsewhere, like in the US.
suekosa stay strong and you'll eventully stop with your horrid habit You'll hair will always grow back just stay strong i got through that habbit and you can to.

What the fuck is wrong with your hair. Ugly bitch. Shave your head, or just remove it entirely. It is so ugly i think i would rather see it removed and thrown into the trash.
Yes it does, makes my life sooo much easier unfortunatly I had to have my blood re-drawn 2 more times after this, the last requiring me to fast 12 hours beforehand so...
Does anything other than EMLA help? Maybe light hypnosis? I wonder if clonidine might help with this sensory disorder of which you speak. Do you find that the EMLA works only if you leave it on for about 1/2 hour or so? One trick is to put it on then cover it with an op-site a/k/a tegederm
I'm a girl and I had to get my blood drawn because I have a rare genetic disease called OrnthineTransCarbmaylse deficencu, it affects my ability to process protein so what they were was
1) checking blood for any abnormalities
2) Checking my genes cause they think I have another problem
ohh the hair what's up :(

wow,, Colby has to get this done on Monday, I was thinking of bringing our camera because of the funny things he says during it.
brycencolby 4 years ago
I use emla (spelling?) cream to numb it. Did Colby cry? if I didn't have the emla cream, I'd be screaming
suekosa 4 years ago
yes, it's EMLA for "eutectic mixture of local anesthetics" of some use in really young kids but certainly not needed at pre-teen or older.
NeedleDoctorCane 4 years ago
I've got sensory processing disorder, so sitting through a needle can be very painful, thank god for emla cream
