  • awful lyrical structure.

  • Cherish is a GREAT WORD!!

  • I was watching one of Time Life programs about classic love songs and I remembered this song. It was the song that was playing when I had my first date and dance with a girl from junior high. It brings back such strong memories of my youth. Thank you for the post.

  • you don't know how many times I heard this on AM radio

  • It's been 42 years since I passed notes to Laurie in Mrs. Maynard's fifth grade class. I guess you never forget your first. Initially viewed as a curse and a blessing wrapped up in one transitioning into just a long term memory with age. An item to be rolled around in the mind like a piece of hard candy, when one is desiring something sweet.

  • Stranger in a Strange Land anybody?

  • LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    ♥

  • GREAT SONG TO REMEMBER

  • I love this one it brings back so many memories!! We need more music like this.....NOW!

  • California Modern: Are you kidding?

Where did you go to high school?

  • @BigLongJohnny007 Thanks for tuning in! Great song to remember.

  • Great song! I remember it so well from high school when I was in love with Mary Priegel.

    ....and I do... cherish you...

    Scott

  • @BigLongJohnny007: Hey . . . Not so fast! I was in love with Mary Priegel in high school!!!

  • @CaliforniaModern: No way, Jose - WE were in love with Mary Priegel in high school. But everyone knew her as "Nancy".

  • this song was number 1 on the day I was born Oct 2 1966

  • Reminds me of my ex when i was 14 Shron Garbutt, beautiful song for a beautiful gal, still love her now 30 years later x

  • The second part of the bridge, the way the lyrics, harmonies and instrumentation all comes together gives me chills (the good kind). One of the best examples of pop songwriting of any era. Utterly timeless.

  • *you don't know how many times i wish that i could have told you... i'm beginning to think that man has never found the words that could make you want me, that have the right amount of letters, just the right sound, that could make you hear make you see that your driving me out my mind..when all they wanted was to touch your face your hands and gaze in your eyes; all the feeling that i have hiding here inside*repeat You don't know how many times i could mold you into someone;Cherish is the Word

  • I was named after this very song and I am happy to know it was good one! I get sung to all the time when people hear my name- love it! -Cherish

  • I'm a 57 year old boomer who has been in love three times. In high school I loved Carmen, in college I loved Lisa and in 1980 I met my wife Pat. I listened to this posting three times before I really listened to the words. These words reveal exactly how I felt for these ladies when I Cherished them. Thank you my loves for bringing out these feelings in me. I Cherish my life with my wife Pat today! Thank you for posting this beautiful song.

  • This was the number 1 song when my college girlfriend and I were homecoming king and queen. It still makes me feel like I am 20 again.

  • I read an interview years ago where Terry Kirkman said he couldn't sleep one night, got up to get a glass of milk and-boom!- the hook/song idea just came to him. He grabbed a guitar or sat the piano or something and the tune was finished in half an hour. I imagine arranging the vocal harmonies in the studio took a bit longer:)

  • only three weeks thats some frozen horse shit

  • When you're in love, this is THE song to sing to her. When she hears this you sing this song to her, she will open up everything she has. It's that simple. WHAT A SONG! Man, I just die when I hear this song.

  • great sound quality......fantastic

  • the Simpsons brought me here.

  • The word that comes to mind when I hear this song is "GENIUS"

  • I love all kinds of music, from very heavy metal to this. I love this song, with the harmonies and the longing in the lyrics. Who among us wasn't utterly infatuated with someone who was unattainable to us?

  • I love all kinds of music, from very heavy metal to this. I love this song, with the harmonies and the longing in the lyrics. Who among us wasn't utterly infatuated with someone?

  • Cindy, 45 years and I still love you... Tiger

  • @lifeisarock66 tell Cindy i love her too...whoever she is.

  • EVERYTHING about this song is absolutely AWESOME ... the instruments, vocal harmonies, lyrics. .....Although it is true that most old song are wonderful and far superior --- but, EVEN THEN, this song is truly a cut above the rest of them all.

I WILL CHERISH IT FOREVER , indeed.... Thanks for the upload.

  • @DrJennyGyn Thank you for the comment !

One of a kind harmony deserves to be "cherished" foever.

    Carino

  • love all their music but i cannot get it on cd or any other format.......

  • This is such a beautiful version of this lovely song. It's the one I remember from so long ago and still,to this day, cherish!

  • STOML. Once quoted in a letter to me which I was so happy about and felt the same. It was sweet then a sweet memory now.

  • One word, harmony. Words and music coming together to create something that will always be great!

  • aparently this can be a stalker's song.

  • The harmony in this song is simply wonderful! My God! And today we have to endure Biber and "Lady" Gaga ... It's the end of time!

  • You did it again!!!! Sounds GREAT!!!!!!!

  • Among the greatest bands from the greatest time/place combination (60's-early 70's L.A.) music-wise. Terry Kirkman is among the most unsung songwriters/artists of this time.

  • When you think about listening to deep & solid harmonies, you have to look at these guys & the stuff they did. This particular gem is not only vocally challenging, but the chord arrangements(especially that bridge), are unbelievably outstanding. I'm a (59 y/o) baby-boomer who still gets blown away thinking about the great stuff that came out of the 60's & really shaped so much of the music that came after(even if some folks won't admit it). Long live the 60s.

  • @jbyesterday Completely agree..... long live the 60's the best decade for cars and music in the 20th century.

    CArino

  • @RadioCarino You're wrong. It IS THE BEST decade to this day. LONG LIVE THE '60s

  • @jbyesterday I'm a slightly younger boomer, and my favorite year is 1967. Despite "Windy"'s greater popularity, the song is my favorite Association. Currently it is playing on my front page of my main website. It was at the top of the charts about this time in 1966.

  • bueniisima!

  • This is Amazing !!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this! I will add it into my favorites as a replacement due to the other one getting removed because of copyright laws!

  • @redonejs53 Great..... thank you for listening. I hope this one gets to stay a while.
