  • Hey I'm writing from Germany and to be honest I spent a lot of time figuring this intro exactly.

Your video helped me a lot now to understand and learn it. You are a brilliant teacher.

    Thank's a lot man / Cheers

  • what guitar is that and how much did you pay it ? =)

  • @bluesvuk It's a Gibson Dove and I honestly don't remember what I paid for it. You can find the going rate on ebay, though.

  • Can you do a video explaining the c to am walk down you talk about and also something on the hammer ons in c?

  • @eptx2008 Watch my lessons on Sweet Virginia and Country Honk, and that should help.

  • I am a player of many years, but I have no talent. I play for my own enjoyment. Your lesson on Angie is teaching me a song I have long wanted to play. Thank You

  • ... at 5.10 a blinking pearl-inlay on a Gibson !!! kiddin', it comes from the camcorder ! LES

  • Hey Man, you have made many people, including me, very happy. That is no small feat. Thank you BIG time!

  • Awesome lesson my friend! Very good! Wish I could play acoustic like you! Did you see my covers ?

  • Is that a walk up on that F after the G suspension?

  • privettricker,

Thanks very much for putting this out there. Your teaching style is one that works quite well for me (and obviously many others based upon their comments) Thanks!

  • This is decent, There is a good tab of it on guitarinstructor(dot)com. Its only $1.29. It does the whole song pretty well, except for the 2nd verse, 2nd and 3rd choruses, probably because whoever tabbed it got lazy, but other than that its pretty spot on

  • Thank you man good video!

  • In 07:21, do you let the A and D strings ring, because when i'm sliding the position I get a really ugly sound.

  • Some people just have the knack to teach. You have it. I am so glad I came across your site. You have taken my playing to another level. Thanks so much and keep up the great work.

  • excellent

  • Thats a sweet guitar. did the bird come on it. i want that

  • Dude, that is an awesome job on that tune. One of my favorites. You nailed it. Right on the money. THANKS

  • Comment removed

  • @1cleandude Just a regular Dove from the mid-80s.

  • My favorite Stones song (GREAT JOB)

  • Grazie mille!!!

You are doing a great and precious work for a little player like me.

    I love all your videos.

    Ciao. Mauro from Italy

  • Great, straight foward lesson once again. Thx very much for taking the time to post these...!

  • 2 personas nos saben disfrutar de un buen sonido de guitarra

  • been watching your zepplin and stones vids. you are a ledge!

  • beautiful guitar! i love it

  • Hey,can you please tell me what strings are you playing on 4:30 on the walkdown from C to A minor??Thanks!!

  • @rafaultimate69 A through B strings.

  • beautiful sound... really amazing guitar. Also, awesome lesson thanks!

  • One of the best of the Stone tunes and by far the best lesson. I just wish I had your talent and enough years left to get that good. Keep it up and take care.

  • good

  • Hello,

I really like the sound of your guitar. Could you please tell me what kind/ brand of strings you use on this Gibson? I had always been looking for this sweet guitar sound like the Stones. Thank you !

  • @SimonaVanilla To be honest, I don't even know what strings they are. I try to buy whatever coated strings are on sale. I'm kind of partial to Elixir strings, but they're expensive. On the other hand, they last for months before they need to be changed. If you really want a guitar that sounds like the Stones, look for a used Gibson Hummingbird. That was the tone of their Beggars Banquet/Sticky Fingers/Exile period.

  • Your lesson was really great don't mind the talking cause it is on point DO MORE PLEASE. btw love the Dove sound just not the guard

  • Bro, your guitars are ridiculous. Thanks for the lesson.

  • It's cool to throw in riffs and chords found on the live versions of this song too. Throw this chord in when they play the E or E7th chord: E forth fret, B third fret, G first fret, D second fret, A mute or second fret, E open. Don't strum it down or up, pick it alternately. Way cool! Also---when they play the G chord at "with no loving" part, play the G chord but also add G string second fret.

  • Hey man, thanks a lot for doing this lesson,i've requested it to you a couple of times and you did it,thanks very much :) I really love this song and i want to learn it a lot, thanks!!!!!!!And what an awesome guitar!!!

  • great lesson dude as always .... never would have guessed those chords after the a minor .... some new chords for me to write with as well thanks man ... and i want that guitar, so beautiful

  • think of how hard it must be to think up (compose) a song like this....

  • @jdillmeister --especially when your deathly ill from smack withdrawal in a Swiss Hospital! Read his autobiography entitled "Life"!

  • Dude, tell those e-mails telling you to shut up, to shut up. I wish you had spoken on all of your lessons. Thanks again. I follow your instruction like a padawan learning the power of the force. Keep them coming. Rob. Glasgow

  • Thanks! I really enjoy your lessons, especially when you break them down this way. You have a knack for taking the mystery out of it all. Thank you!

  • Great lesson. Been playin it for years, now I'll play it better! Thanx! ROB NYC

  • Thanks again, I always knew it was in Aminor, but was'nt 100% on the fingering

  • awesome as always do you work ? lol keep it coming

  • Excellent

  • you are the only person i can learn from. you get straight to the point.

  • @DarthVaderVoldemort I get a lot of e-mails telling me to shut up and get on with the lessons! :)

  • @privettricker Tell the people sending those emails to shut up and get on to someone else's channel!!!!!!!

  • great lesson with your best sounding guitar (Gibson). What model is it exactly????

  • @2Heinz2 That's a Gibson Dove. The maple back/sides give it a nice bright tone.

  • Thanx for the lesson I have found this one of the trickier Stones tunes, a true masterpiece of work IMHO. The whole 'soup' LP was great.

  • Hey, very nice. One missing chord on intro. After the Fsus to F, it is a Csus to C. So after playing the Fsus to F switch, Keith plays 5 notes on the F chord then the Csus. On the Csus chord he plays three single notes - 5th string, 4th string , 3rd string, then he strums the 5th, 4th and 3rd strings on the C chord.

Csus is just a C with your pinky on the D string, 3rd fret. Then lift it off to play the C.

  • @cinci1962 The way I hear it, he plays more notes on the F chord during the intro than he does when he hits the F chord during the verses.

  • Keys are a weird thing huh? This song made me feel so depressed the first time I heard it, but Stairway didn't do that, and they're both in the same key. What's your opinion on the "saddest" key? I'd probably say Tufnel's D minor, makes me weep instantly....

  • @RS1Comedy1Vids I don't know. To me, Leaving on a Jet Plane is about the saddest song ever, and that's in a major key.

  • @RS1Comedy1Vids In David Lucas Burge's Perfect Pitch program he assures the listener that each key has a flavour to it. I'm not quite sure I believe that. Maybe unconsciously some keys might have certain flavours, but to me the only purpose of messing with keys is to make it fit the voice.

  • very good

  • Wow..Well done, perfect good lesson... great teacher ...

  • Fantastic lesson best on the tube just a classic song thanks for posting this one helps a lot

  • Great lesson. I had been playing this one for a while but you filled in the blanks where I was just strumming chords.

  • @guitarDad100 Amen to that! me too

  • Great lesson for a classic song thanks
