I am a player of many years, but I have no talent. I play for my own enjoyment. Your lesson on Angie is teaching me a song I have long wanted to play. Thank You
Thanks very much for putting this out there. Your teaching style is one that works quite well for me (and obviously many others based upon their comments) Thanks!
This is decent, There is a good tab of it on guitarinstructor(dot)com. Its only $1.29. It does the whole song pretty well, except for the 2nd verse, 2nd and 3rd choruses, probably because whoever tabbed it got lazy, but other than that its pretty spot on
Some people just have the knack to teach. You have it. I am so glad I came across your site. You have taken my playing to another level. Thanks so much and keep up the great work.
One of the best of the Stone tunes and by far the best lesson. I just wish I had your talent and enough years left to get that good. Keep it up and take care.
I really like the sound of your guitar. Could you please tell me what kind/ brand of strings you use on this Gibson? I had always been looking for this sweet guitar sound like the Stones. Thank you !
@SimonaVanilla To be honest, I don't even know what strings they are. I try to buy whatever coated strings are on sale. I'm kind of partial to Elixir strings, but they're expensive. On the other hand, they last for months before they need to be changed. If you really want a guitar that sounds like the Stones, look for a used Gibson Hummingbird. That was the tone of their Beggars Banquet/Sticky Fingers/Exile period.
It's cool to throw in riffs and chords found on the live versions of this song too. Throw this chord in when they play the E or E7th chord: E forth fret, B third fret, G first fret, D second fret, A mute or second fret, E open. Don't strum it down or up, pick it alternately. Way cool! Also---when they play the G chord at "with no loving" part, play the G chord but also add G string second fret.
Hey man, thanks a lot for doing this lesson,i've requested it to you a couple of times and you did it,thanks very much :) I really love this song and i want to learn it a lot, thanks!!!!!!!And what an awesome guitar!!!
great lesson dude as always .... never would have guessed those chords after the a minor .... some new chords for me to write with as well thanks man ... and i want that guitar, so beautiful
Dude, tell those e-mails telling you to shut up, to shut up. I wish you had spoken on all of your lessons. Thanks again. I follow your instruction like a padawan learning the power of the force. Keep them coming. Rob. Glasgow
Hey, very nice. One missing chord on intro. After the Fsus to F, it is a Csus to C. So after playing the Fsus to F switch, Keith plays 5 notes on the F chord then the Csus. On the Csus chord he plays three single notes - 5th string, 4th string , 3rd string, then he strums the 5th, 4th and 3rd strings on the C chord.
Csus is just a C with your pinky on the D string, 3rd fret. Then lift it off to play the C.
Keys are a weird thing huh? This song made me feel so depressed the first time I heard it, but Stairway didn't do that, and they're both in the same key. What's your opinion on the "saddest" key? I'd probably say Tufnel's D minor, makes me weep instantly....
@RS1Comedy1Vids In David Lucas Burge's Perfect Pitch program he assures the listener that each key has a flavour to it. I'm not quite sure I believe that. Maybe unconsciously some keys might have certain flavours, but to me the only purpose of messing with keys is to make it fit the voice.
Hey I'm writing from Germany and to be honest I spent a lot of time figuring this intro exactly.
Your video helped me a lot now to understand and learn it. You are a brilliant teacher.
Thank's a lot man / Cheers

In 07:21, do you let the A and D strings ring, because when i'm sliding the position I get a really ugly sound.

@cinci1962 The way I hear it, he plays more notes on the F chord during the intro than he does when he hits the F chord during the verses.
