i have the sameeee problem, except the lexapro worked for me. i am on an add med called focalin xr but its kind of making me sleepy now haha. good luck and btw lexapro does make you drowsy but affter you are used to it (like i got used to it) it works, though i took it for many other reasons like sleep disorder and bipolar. good luck

Doctors do not know it all, and tend to blow-off side-effect issues. They sure will throw meds at you. Panic and anxiety certainly can take over your life. It is a raging battle within and no one can truly understand until they have had it.  Keeping pressing on and don't give up.

I totally sympathize with you. For the last 3 years I have played the "find the right med" game as well as the "find the right psychiatrist" game. Its hard to do, but when you find the right drug and shrink it makes all the difference.

Be careful discontinuing the lexapro due to Serationin syndrome. Maybe even try titrating off it.

Dexadrine ( dextro-amphetamine) might be a good replacement to the adderall. It stimulates norepinephrine less, causing less anxiety.

yeah i was on lexapro, risperdal, strattera, and for short periods of time focalin, and bladder like you. I had aweful side effects due to the mixture of the lexapro and adderal. But, I know what you're doing, in fact i stopped taking my meds a couple months ago and as long as you don't feel suicidal or anything you should be ok. Just be careful about going off your meds unless you're absolutely positive you don't need them anymore.

Make sure you use the right dosage of Lexapro.. if you want to get off it, step it down slowly. In the right dosage, it should be good. 10MG is typically a good starting point.

yea you did- 100 mg of adderall is a lot spanned over 24 hours, but its a shitload taken all at once, especially if u sniffed it. your lucky you didnt die, in my opinion. One thing Adderall does is cause cardiovascular constriction (tightening of blood vessels) which causes you to feel lightheaded. Basically, dont ever blow that much adderall at once again, cause your gonna feel like shit and might die.

I've been in a similar situation. I stopped taking everything the doctor prescribed and began to look at herbs. The anxiety comes back occasionally but I can deal with it. I found St Johns Wort, Mellissa Officinalis Valerian and Passionflower to be invaluable with no noticable side effects.

The only thing that has helped me is marijuana, using it in small controlled amounts helps me concentrate and get things done. It keeps me happy and focused. Strattera can cause high blood pressure too. If that Adderall really helped you, some doctors prescribe beta blockers to relieve the negative side effects of the stimulants and beta blockers can actually help with some anxiety too, read up on it. If you have very bad anxiety you should really find an antidepressant that will work for your anxiety. Xanax and benzodiazepines and very effective but it really isn't what you want long-term.

Interesting how meds effect people differently. Other anti depressants, like Tofranil and effexor made me emotionally numb....but Lexapro made me feel extreme highs and lows. I felt as if I was Bipolar! The moodswings were insane and impulsive! Well naturally I am prone to moodswings anyway.

I think it's a great idea to go off of all the meds and see how you feel naturally. I was on ALL of those meds too at one time or another! I am withdrawing from Adderall as I type this. Meds CAN take away from a persons personality, the anti depressants namely. I hate that numb feeling. It's a good idea to keep some Xanax handy for those times when the anxiety is bad. Way to go! Your question wasn't addressed to me, but at this very moment I am withdrawing from Adderall so I will reply to your question. I was taking 20mg three times a day for two months and I mainly am experiencing a great deal of fatigue, depression, and slight nausea that only lasted the 1st few days but wasn't enough to puke about. I'm having a little anxiety which is NOT hard for me to deal with since I have valium...but the most common withdrawal effect of Adderall is usually fatigue.

With the Xanax, whatever you do don't quit cold turkey! WEAN off the Xanax properly because if you don't you will suffer more! Believe me! Even after ONE months of continuous Xanax use the withdrawal I experienced was TERRIBLE!

ShockResistor is right, whatever you do DO NOT!!!! just try and jump off the Xanax cold turkey. The withdrawal is horrendous, absolutely utterly horrendous and you run the risk of having a Grand Mal seizure which can be very dangerous.

Look up something called "The Ashton Method for Benzodiazipene withdrawal" and find a Doctor who is willing to do this for you. This is your best bet for getting off of Xanax. Basically you gradually swap over to the equivalent dosage in Valium and then taper from that, much easier than trying to taper from Xanax.
