Don't listen to him. You need BIG gaps. Sideswipers and bugs are adjusted in the opposite way to iambic keyers: use wide contact spacing and firm spring tension.

You want big gaps because the motion is a slapping one, like you showed in the video, not a "tickling" one, like an iambic keyer. Otherwise, the sideswiper goes "lollylollylah", not "diggadiggadit" like it should.
