  • Intro dude can't even pronounce Harajuku correctly...

  • Harajujku girls pretty HOT!

  • I think it looks great Damon as always! I lived in Japan for awhile & harajuku is not necessarily wearable for everyone in the mainstream. harajuku IS to the extreme~some are not pretty at all but rather for shock value. This makeup is great for people who like the look harajuku but it may not necessarily be their usual look. I think it looks great & still fun & wearable. I think it is assinine of those who are giving crap that it is not harajuku, harajuku has a range, Gwen's ads case in point!

  • Harajuku is more than just lots of colours, duhh

  • mm, ? this isnt creative enough. nothing to real Harajuku level.

  • He so crap

  • HOLY COW. THAT'S THE FURTHEST THING FROM HARAJUKU I'D EVER SEEN. WHOA. THAT'S BAD.

  • the makeup artist seems kind of rude.

  • well watevr ya'll say tha model is gorgeous!!!

  • I Love Harajuku.. and i know theres now limit to their fashion and makup.. but you used quite alot of makeup there, i think more vibrancy could have been added.. like rainbow colors, :/ Just saying my opinion.

  • No, Damon, there ARE rules to makeup. Try following just a few of them. However, I do kind of like the lips.

  • @dibhackett69

oh i do know it's a place... i'm like in roppongi right now and harajuku is not far. well the vid title is harajuku make up and i said fail because the make up

is not harajuku at all... people in harajuku dresses to kill everytime.. it's like killer crazy fashion usually with make up not like what's in the vid... because with killer fashion,

you can't be wearing killer make-up too...

  • when you say harajuku it's ALL about the CLOTHES........ usually with less make up....

    FAIL...

he does not know what he is doing...

  • the colors are beautiful but the girl was prettier without the make-up and it is just a commercial

  • Make up is fail and so is the announcer's pronunciation of "Harajuku."

  • i'm so sry but dis is not decora or harajuku makeup but it is pwetty though

  • It's like it's a joke. He put yellow eyeshadow above her eyebrow on one of her eyes.

    What a disgrace.

  • this is NOT harajuku makeup.....but I will give him some credit.....it is a pretty makeup style......it will be......eh......japanese neutral hiphop makeup & fashion.......or something along those lines...

  • Eurghh!! This isn't even remotely harajuku!!!! When you dress in harajuku its more about the OUTFIT rather than the MAKE UP infact you should wear a biit of concealer and a nude lipstick and maybe foundation if you need it, thats all, this guy knows nothing about harajuku

  • Wthell..

He isn't the world famous makeup artist.

    This makeup tutorial is disgusting.

Harajuku is a street style in Japanese where the people are dressed up and as Kera, Tune, Gothic & Lolita Bible and Fruits.

  • I do think it came out cute... though I really REALLY disliked the lips. A slightly more effortless suggestion is getting a dark purple lipstick like he had and a lighter purple lipstick. Use the dark purple from the outer corner to the center of the lips leaving a bit of area in the center and apply the lighter shade there and blending the two shades afterwards. Gloss the whole lip and you get better dimension than using the lip liner. Just an imo.

  • I want to.. bring some dimension to her eyes.

    (...)

I want to.. bring some dimension to her face.

    (...)

I want to.. bring some dimension to her lips.

wow, it really sounds like he knows what he's talking about, eh?

  • ahahaaha fult ögonsmink ju

  • Very bright and colorful. I'm not a fan of the purple and yellow combination but I love harajuku makeup nonetheless.

BTW I love the highlight on her lips

  • Very Awesome, I love Japanese styles vry awesome I love it!!

  • these men sound like they love their job...

  • WTF??!!

This is sooooo not Harajuku Style.

This is what ppl think harajuku is, but sooooooooo wrong.

Dont do it if you dont really know what it is!!

I think this video makes a lot of ppl upset...

  • I completly agree.

  • wow. thats pretty cool. but you dont really see it too much anymore.

GET IT BACK IT STYLE I SAY!!!

  • Is it Mardi Gras already?

  • funny what makeup master is european man )

  • Harajuku is the common name for the area around Harajuku Station on the Yamanote Line in the Shibuya ward of Tokyo, Japan. The area is known internationally for its youth style and fashion. Harajuku street style is promoted in Japanese and international publications such as Kera, Tune, Gothic & Lolita Bible and Fruits.

  • is this a joke? there is no such thing as "harajuku style makeup"

maybe you're referring to "gyaru style", but if so, you're wayyyyyy off.

  • By saying "Harajuku style make-up" he probably meant the Decora/Spank style make-up. Remember that this is probably inspiered by Gwen Stefanis fail Harajuku shit. And this make-up is definetly not Gyaru style.

  • yeah, it's very gwen stefani in that sense of harajuku. i just initially was sorta offended since i'm gyaru [:

    hopefully i didn't sound mean...

  • Don't worry, it didn't sound mean. I just HATE Gwen for this shit.

I LOVE almost all Japanese street styles. :D But dress VK and Gothic and Lolita, I occasionaly dress Hime Gyaru¨though. ^_^

  • damian hamilton "world famous make up artist"?

    yea right

  • This is disgusting make up

And his method of applying make up

is just rough and not talented really

basically what makes it look in any way good

is the pigment of the colors...

    JUST HORRIBLE

AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS HARAJUKO MAKEUP

    IT IS A DISTRICT....

  • I prefer when the girls make her own make up [talking about a certain style - "harajuku girls" ou "yamamba", for exemplo], cause they do exactly what they want^^

In this video, it's like the make up was the version of another person, not the girl's version^^

I like this make up, though I think I would use less colors^^

  • Kogals, Manbas (wich was before called Yamamba), Hime Gyarus and all other Gyaru styles are not a part of the Harajuku people. The Harajuku people are the Visual/Oshare Kei, Gothic and Lolita, Decora and Cosplay people. ^_^

  • yeahh... I don't understand so much about that xD

  • 2:51 :P haha

but my opinion............hmmmmm i dont really like the eye shadow no offense

  • Hey i live on long island (which is in New York) and for holloween really wanted to dress up like a harajuku girl in the decora style but i'm worried people will not get it or rag on me but what other chance do i have to go all out with makup and clothes! So what do people think?

  • ROFL.

He said, "I don't know, ask Bill Nye"

BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY FTW~!!

  • I think he might've said Ben Nye, since that's a makeup, mostly eyeshadow brand.

  • Yeah he said Ben Nye, makeup/ theatrical company.

Amazing products, and that gold looks amazing, I need to get some.

  • i think this has to be the ugliest harajuku make up i have ever seen. her hair looked like she had been electricuted

  • asian eyes are the best eyes for eyeshadow they look great

  • this doesnt look harajuku...more like japanese girl on the street...

  • That was shit! messy

  • Gah they do pronounce Harajuku wrongly.

  • Just kissed on the video screen of my computer. irresistable makeup..

  • What make is that gold pigment on her brow-bone? It is so beautiful!

  • I kinda like the eye make up but the lip-stuff let her look like she's working night time in the streets.... with nothing but this ugly hat on ^_~

  • <3 the hat, lol. where did you get it!?

  • aweful

  • I use that Nars duo to line also!

  • LOVE IT!!! Dream look!

  • öh the make up is wonderful aber the hair is a lil bit crazy XXD

  • mehhh..

  • UGH i wish they would stop pronouncing it

    "HAIR-ujuku"

    HA RA JU KU

    its not that hard!

  • Seriously. I blame Gewn Stefani. :/

  • i agree , its her fault :)

  • omg! i thought i was the only one that noticed that...it bothers me!

  • lol... Everyone's an expert...Last time I heard Japanese say Harajuku, they didn't pronounce the U at the end.

It's normal for the Japanese to clip their vowels, even in polite conversation (especially males)

  • thats a given.. not needing to be mentioned. i dont have a key for a faintly pronounced "u" like a line in the song bouzenjishitsu by mucc "muni mokushi" sounds like "mni mokshi" or like how daisuki desu soulds like daiski des (or de)
  • of course, dont u know, american speaking people dont know how to speek o,u,i...ther japanese is really bad.

i dont like this make up.too much colors.

  • american speaking? american is not a language.

  • I like it! Very beautiful and bright colours! Looks unusual =)))

  • Wow, I don't know what some of these people are saying about this being bad makeup, I love it. I'm going on a serch for the right colours and I'm going to do this makeup myself! ^^

  • shes very pretty :) luv the make up :D

  • Beautifully Gorgeous!

  • ....yeah lmao..he fucked up a little bit...should have blended it a bit more O_o..but ehhh it's alright~ :3

  • oh, shut up!

people who understand harajuku, knows what it is and understands makeup, knows this is amazingly good.

He really did a good job with the light and shadows, im really tempted to try myself, as the harajuku-addicted girl i am.

  • AMAZINGGG!!! im writing it down so i can go do it. lmao.

  • oh come on man.. at least understand the title before saying anything. Do ya know what Harajuku means? The least she needs is ordinary. This make is not up to a normal basis.. It's a perfect Harajuku style!!

  • please do another video like this!!!! please!!!!

  • OMG! Terrible. A 3-year old can do better than this Guy! He does not know how to apply make-up. This has to be some kind of a sick joke! That lip color looks horrendous -- I can't take much more!

  • its meant to be crazy and stand out its what it is

  • I think that young lady is beautiful with or without the makeup.

tinenefs, I was the same as you...it was a blast! :-)

  • Oh.. my god. This guy is professional? Someone taser him.

    -_-

  • Where did you learn to apply makeup? Barnum and Bailey? Ringling Bros.? Oh,i'm sorry. You are self taught. That girl looked better without all that.

  • Umm...no.

    Fail.

  • What the fuck?! "There really are no rules to make up...you can just sort of do whatever you want and people like it"?!?! There certainly are rules to make up...like, never put eyeshadow on your EYEBROWS...and colors like PURPLE and YELLOW don't blend very well? And while you're at it, LEARN HOW TO APPLY LIP LINER. You did not define her lips at all! What you did was you totally disregarded the natural shape of her lips! What is this world coming to?!

  • Definitely dramatic and not daytime. Interesting, pretty colors selected. It's not a favorite for me, tho', because I prefer a smoky eye, and I think this looks best on a younger face (I'm 44). Fun to experiment with, though. Thanks!

  • AMAZING TIPS...Love the colors!!

  • Hey tinenefs, women are beautiful and only need minimal makeup if any. That is my opinion.

  • I was a Punk Rocker in the early 80s, I wore lots of colorful makeup and experimented with my hair and clothes. EVERYBODY COMMENTED, it's fun

and nice to change your look and feel confident

about yourself... My boss would joke with me and say he never had a dull moment when I was in the room...

If all the flowers in the garden looked the same, it would be a really boring world.*_*

  • True, nothing wrong with make up or wigs or anything like that. I could use some fixing myself!

  • wow that's some bad makeup

  • This is fucking atrocious. It makes me want to scoop my eyes out of my head. I want to find the "artist" and cut his throat.

  • Oh my god. This is the ugliest makeup I've seen in a long time. THERE IS NOT A HARAJUKU STYLE!

It's a district in Japan. And look in a Fruits book/magazine for 'Harajuku' makeup.

  • I agree. I woen the FRUiTS book and this is nothing like what I've seen, but I still think this is cute, kudos to the arist.

  • The hair. Holy shit the hair.

  • Harajuku is a place not a style.

    I wouldnt consider this good makeup at all D;

  • agreed

  • hmm.. doesn't seem very harajuku to me. Most of the harajuku girls are very gothic or very lolita (which is very little make-up.) This seems to be more of Gwen Stefani's version of Harajuku which is quite off.

  • Looks like Monkey Ass for me,sorry for the comment

  • OMG im jealous she's so pretty :D i love the make up im going to try it out XD

  • this is nothing like Harajuku, look at pictures on flickr. Its way more then a bunch of colors togeter (pretty, but far far away from Harajuku fashion)

    Just my pov, that's all.

  • She is absolutely gorgeous! With AND without makeup!!

  • OMMMG she is sooo pretty! I LOVE THE MAKE-UP! Damien Hamilton? I'll remember the name! HARAJUKU style is so cool coz it allows you to be an individual~ that's why i love japan...

  • damon is amazing. but he looks more like a painter than a makeup artist. but that is cool because it shows anyone can work with makeup.

  • What is Harajuku?

  • It's a place in japan. The world of fashion and art. :D

  • Harajuku is basically mitch-matching and putting together layers with style. Being from Kyoto, i dont have much exposure to the Harajuku style-of-life, but being in America i like to dress harajuku in skool and spread it around! Its rely awesome once u get the feel for how to layer and color your outfits..otherwise you'll look like an american-fool-of-a-clown..!

  • Very nice, favourited! I want to practice my make-up skills some more.

  • VERY HOT!

  • I always wondered how they did that. Thanks!

  • That makeup is hot!

    I especially love the LIPS!

    YUMMY!
