I question the face recognition/gps system and tagging. now with automatic updates 'i am guessing', but would 'big brother' be getting 'you' to provide all your info to the govt. Too much is happening regarding tagging face recognition and gps. How convenient for them that they put all this in date order!. PMB need to clearly explain how they have access to this data, how/who they share it, or sell it to!. So does *acebook. I see this as a global data collection of people location events.

@TheKidTechie Depends on the version a bit, but video editing is pretty basic (cutting and combining). Photo editing offers a bit more, letting you do things like removing red-eye, adjusting levels, cropping and adjusting colour.
@BOYINGTON19909 That's sometimes caused by internet connection settings... If you're trying to use it on a work network or similar it could have something to do with a proxy being used (normally you'd receive an error). Otherwise, it might just be a bit slow to load (again, largely down to your internet connection) - just give it a few seconds.

Hi Jim, sorry it does sometime take me a bit of time to get to these (I train all our resellers as well as end-users so I can get a bit over-run sometimes!)
PMB tends to work with 'groups of frames' (this is related to the way AVCHD video is compressed). It's designed more for triming clips rather than full-fledged editing.
More advanced software, including Sony's Vegas editing software (Movie Studio Platinum, or Pro) will unpack the video and let you edit at a frame-by-frame level.
I have an HDR SR-11 camcorder. When I view my videos in PMB, they're in full 1080p HD. When I export the files from PMB into wmv files, they become standard def and get compressed to 640x480 (or whatever it is). Is there a way around this so that I can edit my videos in HD in Movie Maker before I submit them to Youtube? Thanks for any answers.
The current version of Movie Maker doesn't support the AVCHD format so there's not really a way around this I'm afraid. Movie Maker in Windows 7 will likely support AVCHD, but until then you will need a third party application to convert video to wmv (while retaining HD quality). A quick Google search of "AVCHD to WMV conversion" brings up some options to try.
I have had the same problem as simav8r. The quality is not as impressive. Is there a chance Sony will update PMB to have the ability to export into wmv files and retain HD quality?
PMB is the worse software i have ever encountered!

@slipknotdudegreg Not sure what could be causing that... are you able to access the camera as a 'drive' in your computer after you plug it in?
You could try changing the USB mode (under settings on the camera) as this sometimes fixes these sorts of things.
Might pay to also check for an update for PMB (in the help menu) so be sure you're using the latest version

Have HDR-SR12E and PMB, what it doesn't do is allow single frame editing as single frame...
i.e.- 25fps = 25 frames.....why?
Can you answer this one? If you know or a product that will edit to single frames on windows base. Thanks.
