I played the Doom/Hexen/Heretic with texture pack, and it all has the same problem:
The enemies in that time had in their AI some sort of random strafe, they would walk from left to right before attacking so it was harder for the player to shoot them. That mechanic just looks cheesy with these graphics, since the animation takes 3 seconds instead of just a sprite change. They look like they are dancing towards you.
I miss this game too; I think this game is very underrated and overshadowed by the more recent games, let alone the ones that came out soon after this game.
Just go to the 3D Realms forums and download the free HRP (high res pac) and EDuke 32 (the port to XP). Or type in "duke nukem 3d high resolution pack" in google and go right to the link. Enjoy.
ha cool! I have the n64 version, and I can definitely tell they cleaned up the n64 version wow. This really looks good, wonder if I can find it on ebay? lol
