I am a huge music lover and I had never heard this album before. I just bought it for my dad for Christmas and wanted to hear it for myself without opening the cd. so I came to youtube. The first minute and fifteen seconds got my heart racing so fast and literally brought me to tears. From there on, it was just an overwhelming joyous feeling. I will always remember listening to this album totally fucked on morphine. I had been taken to hospital after getting hit in the hand with a hockey ball. I came home and went to bed but I didn't go to sleep. I was laying on my back in a warm dark room with this album playing. Man, was it an experience. Each time a listener hears the album a different interpretation can be made. There is a good reason why this album stayed on the charts for over 14 years.  The album is more than just tap your foot music, it's an analytical perspective of society about the time in which it was conceived. I listen to Elvis and Cochrane as well.

"Speak to me" is the first effect cut of the album, It was composed by Nick Mason. Mason created this intro with cross-fades of elements from other parts of the album. Maybe it is not a track itself, but it´s considered a song, at least and intro to this album.
