I was wondering... what is DSOTM were recorded in protools? All those tape effects and analog sound would eviscerated. Like digital BS> who gives a fuck if you have every newest gadget (e.g., princess cell phones on these hairy motherfuckers) Doesn't necessarily make the sound better.
Oh perfect! Thank you so much. Most don't realize you can't just listen to one song, the entire album must be enjoyed in one sitting for full effect. *leans back and begins listening*
I am a huge music lover and I had never heard this album before. I just bought it for my dad for Christmas and wanted to hear it for myself without opening the cd. so I came to youtube. The first minute and fifteen seconds got my heart racing so fast and literally brought me to tears. From there on, it was just an overwhelming joyous feeling. I have NEVER felt this way about any other music before. This album is breathtaking.
We were young teens listening to Floyd....LOL ...never looked back. I am soooooo grateful to have been born when I was born. We were parented by "The old school" and Floyd (plus the others) set our souls free. Couldn't even attempt to control us. What a journey, no regerets. No comformity.
People on here talking shit about music nowadays just need to open their eyes! There´s is tons of awesome music coming out these days! There will always be good music! The music you listen too reflects you as a person, that´s why most the music out now is meaningless, easy to swallow- crap, because most people don´t really care. They don´t want to use their head and imagination! There has always been shit music, but also always been amazing music created by creative individuals!
I wish I was born in the 60s so I could say I grew up with Pink Floyd, Kiss, The Ramones, and Led Zepplin... and also, I'd be old enough to appreciate Nirvana and the Beatles. But nope, I get to spend my teenage years when Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and the like reign..
@silverdoe33 Yeah, but we also have bands like Massive Attack and solo artists like Ulrich Schnauss leading underground music scenes. These bands are what really make up the 21st century, not that mainstream shit. People are waking up to it too.
I love how so many people think it's cool to get high to this, it embarasses Pink Floyd fans and Syd barrett. The point of music is supposed to take to you to places because it's stellar and trance like. Clearly you don't have a clue what this music is about and you should stop listening to it but why am I surprised this is youtube of all sites, comments here as bout as dumb as the American nation itself. Twats
@kevy06 who the fuck are you to say what embarasses Pink Floyd fans a a group? People are free to enjoy music however the fuck they please, regardless of how some other person thinks it should be enjoyed. Piss off!

I just saw a show, a 'rocumentary' if you will, about this album....
Roger waters said that he wished he could have had the experience of putting on a pair of headphones and just listening to this finished album from beginning to end.
I remember where I was the first time I listened to it, do you?
I will always remember listening to this album totally fucked on morphine. I had been taken to hospital after getting hit in the hand with a hockey ball. I came home and went to bed but I didn't go to sleep. I was laying on my back in a warm dark room with this album playing. Man, was it an experience. I felt like I was flying through around a huge room and then a stadium. The images this album put in my head were amazing.
I just got high tonight with friends, he made the hear the Dark Side of the Moon for the first time. It was a life altering experience, It was an out of body, out of universe experience that I can barely articulate. Best album I have ever heard in my life.
i remember a very physotropic musical awakening bought on my our music teacher and a slide show he did in a music lesson aged 8 , was i stoned or did i realy gets musically awoken , since then i only hear realy good songs 1st time and instantly know & love them
@bandm1987 Do it, that's all I have to say. It is an experience that you cannot replicate, it is the best album I have heard, and one of the most memorable events in my life. You must do it.
1973 listening to this album full bore through headphones open fire gallon of cider and my first sweet leaf good times,,, then it ended i got the bitch prego,,, bye motorbike bye sweet leaf...
As a music lover myself and by having an interest in musical history, I found it kind of strange having not listened to this album before, and as it is among many other great albums for being of great importance to musical history I thought I may as well listen.
After listening to the whole album I am glad to say.. I AM BLOWN AWAY.
if you listened to the whole thing while stoned over and over again and it changed your life for the good and deeper meaning and mindset it put you in which everyone should be in, thumbs up my comment :D i honestly can say this changed my life and view on everything
Does anyone know if I can get this album in FLAC on one single file, I mean the all thing in only one track. I've been searching desperately for ages.
You say Jonas Brothers, I say The Rolling Stones
You say Justin Bieber, I say Queen
You say Taylor Swift, I say Guns & Roses.
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to least 5 video's. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK DIE
@Pterrordactyle The Dark Side of the Moon album was a non-executively controlled creative brilliantly engineered sonic experimental concept album. Each time a listener hears the album a different interpretation can be made. There is a good reason why this album stayed on the charts for over 14 years. The album is more than just tap your foot music, it's an analytical perspective of society about the time in which it was conceived. I listen to Elvis and Cochrane as well.
@Woodkickers What good would this comment do? Expressing that you love great bands to crappy bands is not going to change shit. If you want to do something, post this on a Lady Gaga video or something, obviously people who love Pink Floyd don't find this comment necessary... :P
You my friend I love.I have been looking for someone to do this forever. The songs are intertwined greatly. I have the album but it is scratched. THANKYOU. Pink Floyd = Best Band Ever
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to least 5 video's. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK DIE
March 10th: On this day in 1973, Pink Floyd's epic "Dark Side Of The Moon" album was released in America, where it would spend over 740 weeks on the charts.
Just had to repost a comment to thank you for posting this! You did an excellent job of posting this album completely for us Floyd fans. This album is just so fantastic. It was their masterpiece. I don't think their other albums could ever come close to this. There isn't a bad track on it.
I like drugs and yes, pink floyd under the influence of drugs is GREAT...but can I sit down on a normal day and listen to pink floyd sober?...HELL YEAH!...its beautiful music NO MATTER WHAT!
I'm listening to this today. The day the Moon is literally Dark. December 21st, 2010 Total Lunar Eclipse around North America. Let me tell you something, call it placebo or just an illusion from this marijuana joint I just smoked, but this album has never sounded better to my ears.
@msacca The Wall is the best album till date, i recommend you listen to it alone in a completely dark bedroom in the night. A good order to listen to albums would be: The Wall Pulse (Live) The Division Bell A Momentary Lapse of Reson Dark Side Delicate Sound of Thunder (Live) Animals Wish You Were Here Atom Heart Mother Is There Anybody Out There? (Live) The Final Cut Meddle The Piper at the Gates of Dawn Ummagumma Music from the Film More Obscured by Clouds A Saucerful of Secrets Live Pompeii
@santiagodebellavista and a few months after this see Pink Floyd The Wall (the movie), which will take away all your imagination about it, but its still great
"Speak to me" is the first effect cut of the album, It was composed by Nick Mason. Mason created this intro with cross-fades of elements from other parts of the album. Maybe it is not a track itself, but it´s considered a song, at least and intro to this album.
Driving in the dark with "on the run" playing really loud, why would even consider needing drugs?
