There aren't official champions before 1936, when the associated press was born and the other three major bowls were developed. I guess maybe UM might have another nine, before 1936 and in the 1800's when teams played 2-5 games a year and if they won them all declared themselves as champions. 5-8 teams used to claim that every year b4 1936
