heres a senario, u pull an ace, the dealer pulls an ace, then you pull a face card or a ten, you have blackjack, the dealer offeres insurance, when the dealer arrives at your hand she or he recognizes blackjack, she or he will then place your wager on top of your 2 cards and wait to see if he or she pulls a ten or face card, if he or she does the hand is a push, if he or she does not the hand is a winning hand, i have never seen it done differently.
