  • goddamn. this took my brother and i like 492049791 hours to figure out that youre supposed to show the guard the ring. and that guy with the glinty eye is SOO fucking mysterious. god i loved this game!

  • Comment removed

  • There's nothing of interest in that part of the box.

  • Fuck holy shit nostalgia'd all over my keyboard

  • Alexander pauses and contemplates fate. Maybe he's just a pawn for someone else's amusement. He feels he has no control over his actions, even if it obviously leads to his doom.

  • I loved this freakin game!

  • its been almost 16yrs since ive played this, this is the first time i'm hearing alexanders voice..wow..

  • Damn this game brings back some memories. I remember playing it forever but it was too advance for my 12 year old self to finish.

  • @phd1969 lol same here. I was about 12 when I first played it. My dad and I worked through it.

  • the dog-guards at the doors must be 0bamatardbot's

Almost totally and entirely braindead libtards

  • I fricken love Saladin! I'd want him running things in MY castle.

  • Awesome Tony Jay on of the best VA's ever!! Truly he has the voice of a God... an Elder God if you will.

  • I have this on CD somewhere still... I hope heh heh. I remember it came on like 6 floppies. For the VGA version.

  • This was the best Kings quest game imho, but 8 was so horrible, I still have nightmares thinking about it, made me feel like puking, I dun know why. 7 wasnt great as well

  • damn i could never figure out how to play this game. then again i think i was only six when we got it.

  • The Wizzier has murderer and terrorist written all over his face!

  • OMFG! I barely remember this!

  • bought it. how do i get to work on my win 7?

  • When I was a kid King's Quest 4 was my favorite. I could never solve this version.

  • I think the story of this game is the smartest and most beautiful in all King Quest series. The game is also hard as hell... I couldn't finish it without a walkthrough. How was I to guess I had to actually play the mechanical nightingale for Cassima's one, so I could befriend it? Sigh...

  • Gooddee Alexanda!

  • "May your journey home be...swift" that translates to "Get the hell off this island!"

  • The land of the Green Isles is in dark times and there is a crooked raghead taking charge of the kingdom. coincidence???

  • omg my childhood

  • haha the voice of duke nukem!

  • @Loonyfoo Who?

  • Al Hazred is a total dick. He permeates smarminess from every facet of his being. Ugh, what a jerk!

  • why arent games this creative anymore. they are all piles of dog shit compared to this

  • All of Alexander's crew died....presumably. He must feel pretty bad.

Ooh. That hurt. At 5:32 Lord Al Hazrad pretty much said he thought Alexander had come to the castle to sleep with Cassima. Rude! Warning bell #1 was him speaking for Cassima. The jerk.

    Thanks for uploading! :)

This seems like a fun game, but looks way too difficult for me, I admit.

  • @Serasia apparently at the end of the game, Alexander's mum says she was worried when the crew made it back to Daventry without him... so they must have survived and somehow got back to Daventry

  • @sedm3553 why would a crew abandon their Prince near some island and not bother to look for him

    stupid plot hole

  • Alexander pauses to acknowledge the creepy voice narrating everything that he has been doing.

  • Orgasmical Epic!

  • Dont forget about the tomato later on in the game wit hthe voice of Gilbert Gottfried

  • god i loved this game and still got it

  • i love the Kings Quest Series this one and the Prince-less Bride are my favourites! i wish they still made them, or at least made some PC games that don't have aliens *rolls eyes* i've been playing these games since i was small and i still love them.

  • tony jay yay

  • Classy playthrough so far. Thanks for posting it.

  • Lol this game came on some computer I got I played the crap out of it too lol took me about 2 years to beat it... =/

  • @copznrobbas Wow!Then you must suck like shit if it took you 2 years

  • @GameHelper1998 I was 6 at the time everyone sucks at everything at that age dick.

  • @copznrobbas Nope not everyone only you suck DICK.

  • @GameHelper1998 Haha Trolled me the first time ain't working the second time. Your still a dick though.

  • @copznrobbas Your a big fat dick who likes to suck your moms dick bitch

  • @GameHelper1998 Ohh no! I think I hurt it's feelings...

  • @copznrobbas Who's feelings your boyfriend?

  • @GameHelper1998 Nope yours, all your replies are that of a butt hurt 12 year old.

  • i learned how to read with this game at the age of v(5) i could read at a ivth grade leven

  • OLD LAMPS FOR NEW!!!!!

    Wow that beggar is annoying!

  • Adventure games are forgotten through the Ages and the current gaming era suffers from the same boring stuff.. All serious gamers know what I'm talking about.. This is a BIG mistake! Point & Click Adventure games will always shine the Golden Days of Gaming!

  • this brings back such great memories!! loved this game as a little girl

  • played this game....while it makes me nostalgic right now....I must say....I HATE THIS GAME!! I could never figure out what to do next....

  • i have to play this game again, but i dont know how to install it by using the dumb ass DOS BOX.

  • I remember I had this game when I was about three or four and that I never accomplished anything except walking to places because of ignorance. This game would prove to be difficult even if I played it at an older age provided I had no knowledge beforehand as this is one of these games that has no inclination of coddling the players as missing something=screwed.

  • Alhazared's a world-class prick. I hope he and his head parted ways after the credits.

  • wasnt this game where you had to go through some desert and find a arabian camp or something and i remembee r an annoying ass olw

  • @nibelung34343 that was KQ 5 i thnk....

  • This is indeed a strange land, there are talking dog furries, one with the voice of Tony Jay, an arabic theme to the arcitechture yet it is an island nation with dense foliage. Any many other strange things, this is a cool game.

  • This game was waaay ahead of it's time.

  • What I've always wondered is how a Jamaican (the pawnshop owner) landed on the isle of the crown lol...

  • 2nd Pc game i ever played...

  • Awesome game, but some of the puzzle solutions are RIDICULOUSLY obscure. Kind of no big surprise that adventure games died, sadly :(

  • They just dont make games like this anymore.

  • This is a treasured childhood memory for me. It's a long time since I sat beside my brothers, all three of us trying to find our way through this game.

When I went back to beat it myself later on, I found secrets we hadn't seen before, making me remember how much it had to offer for a game in its day. I still grin, looking back on stuff like, the Rotten Tomato, guard gnomes, & dancing skeletons.

Btw, anyone else laugh at how SERIOUS the narrator is about _everything_?

  • 1:20 is your average republican.

  • @eyeswideopen82 ...What is that suppose to mean?

  • Cassima is their treasured jewel de gard?

  • @WorldChallenge "jewel to guard"

  • ahhh the good times :)

  • Back when I was around 5 years old, I used to play this game without even knowing what to do. My computer had no sound and I think there was textboxes when the characters talked. I even think the version of the game we had was on floppy disk. Talk about primitive... but, even if I had no idea what to do, I just loved to point and click stuff and see what would happen. By the numberous time I played the game over and over, I got somewhat far with the try and error gameplay. It was AWESOME!

  • Aaah, this brings back so many memories!!! And year's later I'm really impressed by the quality of the voice acting. And I'd forgotten the third-person narration, it's kind of odd now...

  • I MISS THIS GAME SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

    T______T

So many great memories going to my bestfriend's place and playing this game for HOURS, trying to figure out what the hell to do next since we lost the book with all the answers in it.

    And this was before GameFaqs.com

  • That's a LOT of voice work for a game released in '92. Very interesting to watch.

  • This was my first PC game. My parents got it because of all the reading you had to do. So many good memories.

  • I hate how small they made that coin, like was it really that necessary to make it that tiny? it's more like a nugget bit rather than a coin

  • best computer game of all time!

  • the best computer game ever! wish i never threw it away :( going download it now :D

  • oh my god! I loved this game when I was a kid, even though I never beat it. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this game? I've still got a computer somewhere with windows 95.

  • This was the best kings quest game.

  • Where can I find this game??? is it available on the web?

  • @fajats it's still available go to amazon.com and you can get king's quest collection

  • wow dude thank you so much for this video i played the hell out of this game as a kid. i think i heard "alexander pulls out his magic map" about a million times.

  • I dont like this because when i played there was music and that voice was not there!

  • @bbruceify

What are you talking about? There's still music here. There's an option to keep voice turned off . It's all a matter of opinion whether you like the voices or not (i personally liked them), or what a particular person grew up with. Still a good game though.

  • Robbie Benson! :D This was the only KQ game I've ever played and now, having watched playthroughs of the 5 games previous, I think I'll appreciate watching these videos even more.

  • this was classic i loved police quest

  • This was way better than the earlier parts because Jane Jensen was a better game designer than Roberta Williams.

  • This game is a huge part of my childhood. I love it!

  • I find the narrator so comforting :D

I want to speak like he does walking around: 'Christian walks calmly into the room' : )

'Captain Saladin's voice reflects a will of iron' - I love it :D

  • i have this on cd and i have its booklet in good condtion

  • They did a excellent job with this game, esp for the voice acting and the animation for a floppy disk game

  • this one is the best of the entire KQ series in my opinion first pc game i ever owned as well .

  • same here...our 1st computer "compaq presario" came with it, and we played and played all day!!...and I agree that this is the best of the KQ series...KQ5, 7, and mask of eternity don't do it for me at all...

  • This brings me back.. I spent hours on this game, never getting far. .xD

  • Comment removed

  • This is the best computer game I've ever played. I wish they still made them like this.

  • Did you ever play Gabriel Knight too? It was a superb game of this kind as well.

  • @HalDanGhor No, but now I must find it! Thanks.

  • @tairourou Look on Google for "Gabriel Knight Trilogy Torrent". With UTorrent, you should be able to get the collection very easily. :)

  • @tairourou play Fable 3. you may enjoy.

  • @tairourou They do, where have you been?

  • @tairourou While classic adventure games are mostly dead and gone, elements of adventure gaming are still well and alive in action games and RPGS, like Dragon Age or Mass Effect.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL in the pawn shop, try using the LOOK icon on the shelves to the right & behind the shopkeeper. It will start listing items with various references to previous KQ games.

My favorite is: "A bottle labeled 'Owl Courage Potion' for spineless owls" :D

  • Alexander has a strange feeling in his pants...

  • at 6:31 he reminds me gman of some reason at 6:31

    he sounds like him.

  • the best from series

  • hey, do you have the enhanced version of this game? If you do could you please please please post it?....thank you

  • Everything you want to see is already on YouTube. Maybe you should develop an appreciation for detail instead of demanding everyone cater to your short attention span.

  • @shadyparadox uhmmm I don't think I was really talking to you...so no need for the insults. I never said anything bad about your posting so don't get mad if I comment or ask a favor from someone else...because it's not that serious homie!

  • my god... This was my first PC game. Although it was only on my daycare comp, and we didn't have speakers. Wow. I just realised I was a ghetto nerd.

  • @LordAmbitious lmao, i like your insight. no shame, my friend!

  • @funkeroni dude, it was ghetto. The resolution was so low we could barely read the text, and there were no audio cues. I'm amazed we got as far as the iceberg lettuce puzzle.

  • @LordAmbitious

    cool with sounds huh lol

  • @LordAmbitious don't feel bad...used to watch my mom played this...wouldn't play them myself...back then adventure games were freaking hard and i knew better to play any lol

  • @LordAmbitious will probably be my Son's first game too.

  • @HuntersX2NCreations I'd like to show my kids these games too.

It's these games that helped me learn how to think creatively with problems. XD

  • @LordAmbitious Wow. So those that like this game are nerds? Cool! Thanks for the compliment. :)

  • LOL! I remember EMM386 crashing this game at the opening screen time and time AGAIN.

  • This really brings back memories for me. Thanks for uploading,

  • I love this game :) Thanks so much for the walkthrough.

  • Loved this game...I could never figure out the majority of it though, VII was a little easier for me because I was pretty young at the time.

  • holy crap, alexander looks like patrick bateman!

  • wow the music at 3:45 brought back such memories felt like i was the same age again.

  • Don't trust Alhazred, Alexander! I mean, his name sounds sinister, and even if it didn't, he's a vizier, which is like a chancellor, and as every gamer knows, you never trust the chancellor! :-)

  • omg i loved this game!

  • i loved this game!!! the alexander third person narration, man, that is some hilarious shit!

  • the video looks cleaner than the games graphics

  • why do you deviantart fags have to ruin everything...

  • Because we like to laugh at you "non-deviantart" "fags" discomfort. XP

  • Alhazared (spelling?) sounds exactly like Saddler from Resident Evil 4. The voice and the way he speaks sound so similar. =D

  • thanks for posting loved this game. i havent found any game since that is as good. any suggestions anyone????

  • this was the first CD-ROM game I ever played. I remember how cool I thought it was to be playing a game on one CD rather than 10 floppy disks.

  • the bear in the pawn shop is funny.

    "you want summa THIS!?!?!!"

  • THis was one of my fav games ever, I played it several times, feels almost like yesterday...wow

  • One of my favorite things about these games is just the wandering around aspect, doing nothing, not unlike real life when you're just wandering around into town looking for something to do, people to talk to.

  • Alexander has always been my favorite character in the entire KQ series. Number One. Not only is he handsome and sexy, but he also has an incredible amount of CLASS. He's so refined and gentleman-like for a guy who spent 17 years of his life as a servant boy to a grouchy wizard. I love that in a guy, I just wish Prince Alex was real...

  • Alexander IS too sexy for the KQ series.

I even drew a picture of him nekkid in DeviantArt.

Besides, a girl like Cassima does'nt deserve to have a guy like Alexander.

  • Was it an anime picture? I might have seen it before....I know because I've looked around deviantArt for pictures of that nature....because I am a perverted little gal....LOL! He is sexy....I just wish people would draw him the way he's supposed to look. He has black hair and blue eyes, yet I still see so many people drawing him with brown hair and brown eyes. Wtf? Argh...

  • And he's not such a bad wizard, himself. Both of his games have lots of spells.

  • oh yeah. this video brings back some very fond memories!

  • i remember playing this game. It was frustrating so I had to use a guide a beat it. hehe. I wish they would make a PS3 or 360 remake

  • Damn those legs of his can move!

  • You would think Alexander would've lost privilages and not be outside after all the turmoil he caused in King's Quest V, lol...Didn't the beginning show Graham and the queen all extra old though?

  • my game never had that annoying voice o.o so i had to guess what everything was lol

  • yeah, same here.....

  • Same here. Still managed to finish the game countless of times. Know it off by heart now. (A slightly sad thing to be proud of and brag about, I know) d:

    Legendary game.

  • so all the bojo

what is the year that game is make from

  • Its such a waste big gaming companies don't make adventure games anymore. I don't see why not. There's a lot of unsatisfied demand for games of this genre.

  • sure you did ok if you did play the game

i know to get the magic book and to get in to the castle :)

it from the 386 and 486

  • man that old i did play the game and i miss it to play it computer 386 and 486 sys

  • Quite possibly the best adventure game ever released!

  • Wow

When I first played this game when i was young, I thoght that Guard dog Saladin's voice sounded familiar. now, x-number of years later, i can recognize it it. That's Tony Jay playing the dog! Gret voice choice!

  • omg...MEMORIES!!!!

    <3

whoever uploaded this - THANK YOU

  • Alexander mounts himself on the Wench

  • They don;t make games like this anymore! Classic!

  • Do you have any use for ...... this?

  • One part I always got stuck at was the riddle with the skeleton door. I would always mistake the i for L so instead of LOVE I would put iove. I would get very frustrated, I couldn't figure out what was wrong for awhile.

  • Did anyine ever make him walk into the sea? The guy used to say "Alexander felt a strange tugging sensation"................Good times good times !!!

  • Alexander can't believe its not butter.

  • This is one of the few games I've never beaten. I loved this when I was a kid.

  • OMG!!!! I miss playing this at my grandparents house!!! aww, good times.

  • i love this game to death

  • haahah i remember that game!

  • Aaahh, the memories. The monsters used to scare me when I was little, so I just watched my mom play.

I was also silly and had a crush on Prince Alex, even though he was just a bunch of pixels. I think his voice had something to do with it.

  • OMG, I played this game back in 95 or 96 when I just got the PC. This is probably one of the first adventure games I've played. This video is nostalgic.

  • Brings back memories. I still have this game but I can't play it anymore. :( Thanks for uploading it.

  • I had no idea Robby Benson and Tony Jay (aka the Beast from Disney's version of "Beauty and the Beast" and Frollo from "Hunchback of Notre Dame") did voice acting for the game until now because my sound card was lousy back then and only played the music. That's pretty cool.

  • Totally COOOL post!was there actual a game version with voices? or did the posters of this post do it themselves?

  • Official voice-acting

  • The CD version had voices.

  • yeah this game had voices

  • I loved this game, but I always got stuck when you had to decipher the symbols.

  • I love this game soo much! especially the QFG series.. =]

  • The music is sooo soooo awesume in this game.

Expecially The Realm Of The Dead, and The Underworld where Prince Alexander goes through the river in the cave.

  • Here, this music came from the Soundtrack.
