is this useful for a hockey player? cuz i've played hockey for 4 years, and i'm starting to work out now, but these exercises dont' seem to make me tired?
ive been doing squats-lunges-leg extensions in one workout but its extremely tiering since i do 205-220-240x10 squats and then 120-130-140x10 for each leg lunges and then leg extensions, i feel like puking after every session like this.
For someone starting this exercise for the first time, how much weight and how many reps would you recommend? I trialled using 15kg per dumbbell and after one set of six reps per leg, the muscles were feeling pretty fiery.
I have a problem with alternating lunges. After 5 sets of 8 reps I don't feel that my glutes or hams are even bit tired, but only my quads. Am I doing them wrong (the same way as on this movie /watch?v=dJ95qwNaD78 )?.
Lunges are primarily a quad exercise so it sounds like you are doing them right. If you want to activate more hams/glutes try staying in a front lunge position, transfer all the weight to the front leg (barely use the back leg) and try some lunges on that front leg only. You will still be working the quads but activating the glutes and hams more that way. Otherwise there are a bunch of quad and ham specific exercises.
you don`t get the attention you deserve dude . your exercises provides the elements of safety and effect without mentioning that it`s buckshee lol and you got a nice way of explicating . keep up your work and good luck
if you are doing them correctly you shouldn't get a "clicking"
if it's painful or not feeling right you should check your form and then check with you dr. to make sure that there is nothing keeping you from doing lunges or squats correctly. this video is just meant to help with some form
