It wasn't about Sinai or the Golan. Syria and Egypt planned to overrun all of Israel.

He closed off the gulf of Aqaba to Israel, violating international waters, proving that he wasn't fooling around and was not putting on a "show" of any kind. Massing up troops and iron has always meant one thing- war. American, Soviet, and Israeli intelligence all knew that war was coming on June 6 hence Israel attacked preemptively on June. '67 was meant to save face for '48.

For '73, your explanation is invalid, since Egypt advanced far beyond 8 miles before being pushed back. Again, Egyptian docs showed that the plan of attack in 73 was nearly the same as 67- to sweep up to Tell Aviv and hook up with Syria, thus overrunning all of Israel. I think you are the one that needs to get your facts straight.

As I said, nasser wanted to impress other Arab leaders by showing "his might". so no, im sure i dont need to get my factts straight.
