  • @Kasparletheater I have no Idea if this version is available on Vinyl (Sorry) , I found it completely by accident as an mp3...............but felt I had to post it on Youtube , as such an excelllent version of a song I love............regards , Tony

  • nothing like the reel thing still like the original

  • WOOOOW, Demi-God of Music!!!!

  • i recommend "i put a spell on me" on google video if you love screamin jay

  • woooow dannnccceeeee,yyyeee

  • WHAT ON EARTH !?!

i love screamin jay but i had no idea there is an uptempo dancefloor-killer version of this song.

    FANTASTIC !

  • sounds like hes mocking religion. go daddy o

  • Screamin Jay was one of the original "performance artists". His professional personna was all theater.

  • He had a TRULY great tenor voice.

If he had been born Caucasian, he would have been a World-class opera singer.

He would have appeared on P.B.S. as one of "The Four Tenors."

  • @BossHiggs There are African American opera singers.....as well as I am sure that people from different races sing opera and not just Caucasians....

  • @BossHiggs You're 100% correct. He could not make it as an operatic singer because he faced a lot of racism here in America- A lot!!

  • @publicatdamagnificen "He could not make it as an operatic singer because he" lacked the dedication and discipline to be an operatic singer. He would rather be a "Salvador Dali" than an Andrew Weyth.

  • @BossHiggs He is a baritone.

  • @madsketcher is/was, you know what i mean.

  • If anyone can find a film by Jim Jarmusch called Mystery Train, Screamin' Jay has a fairly large part in it, and it's a pretty priceless performance. Definitely recommend watching it.

  • @nycbassist just looking at it! ;))

  • @nycbassist I've seen that movie on IFC . He plays the hotel desk clerk .

  • Get down on the floor to this.

  • the beggining is kinda freaky

  • He is like Tom Waits just black :D Amazing!

  • Nice rings! this makes me wanna dance!

  • I love this song. I put a spell on you because you're mine. Bette Midler sang this song in Hocus Pocus. Creedence Clearwaters, Van Morrison and may others covered this song.

  • ***** 5/5 *****. ,,THE BEST ,,

  • He would've made a good Dr. Facilier. I mean, a REALLY good Dr. Facilier.

  • This really funks...

  • Party Spell!

  • amazing! He reminds me Salvador Dali...

  • @AlicelnWonderIand

yeah....hong kong....gimme a sweet smoke..." and i will enjoy it

  • @AlicelnWonderIand Maybe Salvador Dali is his inspiration

  • @nellie2581 maybe...

  • @AlicelnWonderIand ??? c'mon, RICHARD PRYOR.

  • Jalacy Hawkins (July 18, 1929, Cleveland, Ohio — February 12, 2000, Paris, France), best known as Screamin' Jay Hawkins. (Wikipedia)

  • Unfortunately, he is gone :(

  • @AlborzZagros some1 put a spell on him
