  • Hahaha no way!!

  • :( So sad to see but inspirational. The wife is making me sell my Xterra which replaced a 55 CJ5 and I've been toying with the idea of another diesel in the driveway, I was thinking of trying to locate an old VW Caddy pickup but now I'm thinking that a diesel Sammy may be a better option. I sorely miss no top and no doors.

  • man this video hurts me on the inside. i drove an 87 sammy in high school and I loved that little truck. I'd buy one today if I found a hard top at a good price and do that VW TDI swap.

  • thanks for the video :)

  • I keep hearing the theme music to "The Six Million Dollar Man" in my head! ..."rebuild him...better...stronger...faster"... HA! Seriously though, sorry for your loss. The long body Sami's are really neat. I wish we'd gotten them in the States. Very inspiring anyway.

  • Rust In Peace

  • I already knew that a diesel Samurai was a great idea, but now I know I can't live with out one. good luck with a replacement.

  • hell id gutt it .. tow it to a car wash run it through a few times buy a racing seat .. get a canvas top made and wheel the bajesus out of it!!!

  • Very cool!

  • LONG LIVE DIESEL

  • Hey There.....

Did you ever figure out What caused the old girl to burn????

I have a Diesel Suzuki Sidekick , with the VW engine and ACME Kit... I Would never want it to look like yours... Sorry.....What did you do with it after this anyhow???

    Cheers......Captain

  • @h2oboater listen to what he says before asking a silly question

  • It wasn't a silly Question , Ignition switches don't catch fire by them selves??

I bet if I were to investigate this fire , there would be a good posiability I would find a live short , which caused the ignition to ignite ..

Such a same too .. I love the Suzuki long body SJ's ..

    Peace Out .......Captain :-)

  • @h2oboater fair enough, I love the sj's too. Mines an 88 with 250,000+ miles and is my daily driver. I assumed it was a short and would be obvious but I forgot making assumptions in automotive diagnostics can make one look like a fool!

  • awesome

  • how much for parts complete

  • I'm surprised the tires survived.
