Love the video and thanks for sharing...I am a natural hairstylist and you can start the locs on his hair type with the comb twist without using the rubber band. Just go in and comb twist, if you want to get the hair evenly parted do so and them comb twist and then make sure that the hair is well saturated. But thanks for the video.

@ProZayScious it is very difficult to get locs with straight hair but it is possible. there are many different methods to start locs. locs is simply matted hair. if your hair is straight you might want to try the backcombing method.

brown gel and beeswax works best especially if your hair is dark, white or clear gels create a film buildup that is very visible. Also rolling your hair after evey wash will keep locks lookin good and neat.

i dont personally recommend using gel or beeswax but u also seem to use a method different from myself (itzStillaMyth) people have diff reasons for what they use ya kno..me... i use the setting lotion on damp hair and let it set and i may use mango and lime styling gel for locs!!!love that brand it works well..great vid familygoingnatural

always twist clockwise! the hair grows out of the root in the direction to the east! never use shampoos with SLS! always oil your scalp with essential oils such as rosemary, tea tree, lavendar, peppermint, and jojoba (carrier oil). ive never used any gels or waxes. ive only washed my hair with shampoo without sls, oiled it and palmrolled. sa underneath the dryer (although i prefer air dry) and wear a dreadsock while sleeping.
