you may have clicked on some link in order to download something and it came along. In order to remove it the first thing you can try is to use the system restore tool
all programs > accessories > system tools > system restore
and select a restore point of a date approximately prior to the infection. That will be helpful in uninstalling it.
I accidently got antivirus pro 2009 last night, since then ive utterly wiped the thing from my computer thanks to the online guides.
BUT im still getting these stupid pop-ups saying my computer is infected
