  • Seems like you was using manual focus.? am I correct. cause i want to do my own car timelapse and dont know which to use. Guess i gotta use manual focus...

  • what game is this?

  • i am curious from how many frames (photo) did u do this ? please respond

  • @Mindac Probably 2000-3000 frames, I've done 100,000+ frames of time-lapse photography and broke one shutter. DSLR's typically go 50,000 frames before the shutter dies. I paid the repair cost upfront the first time, but now I have insurance.

  • niceee!!! how did you keep the camera steady? did you tie the tripod down?

  • @iDmusic1 exactly, used seatbelts tight, I've had a couple of mishaps whilst driving, just need to find somewhere safe to pull over and fix it.

  • @takeo17755 thanks for the reply, any chance of telling me the settings you used - shutter speed, iso and F stop? Thanks

  • @iDmusic1 Every situation will need different settings, that level of motion blur is about 1/25s shutter, the Sigma 10-20mm lens I'm using is quite dark, only f4.5, and I'm using ISO 100. Just think about how much motion blur you want, if you want similar to this video then set shutter to about 1/25s, and use your Fstop and ISO to set the exposure.

I always use Manual setting, it gives consistent exposure throughout, if you use shutter or aperture priority you can get flickering.

  • @takeo17755 thankyou, appreciate your help!

  • What exposure time did you use so you have that nice blur?

  • Had a look on your website - impressive! Your still shots are fab - so crisp, great compositions. Have watched this time lapse a few times now - love it. Great choice of backing music for it.

  • @takeo17755 how do you use the continuous shutter speed without having to hold down the button..?

  • @helenafay Use a cheap shutter release cable (wired shutter remote) that has a lock-in function

  • awesome video, where you get the music from? couldnt find anything music suitable for my time lapse video.

  • @lwl0296 I think its a track from Battlestar Galactica OST, I look around lots of film soundtracks for inspiration.

  • @takeo17755 awesome stuff thanks!

  • WoW!! how many pic per sec? and what was the playback speed?

  • @freshdkny about 1 or 2 pics per second. Because I have all the individual pictures or 'frames' I can be flexible with the playback, I think this was 15frames per second, due to the long exposures creating a blur, I didn't need to worry about juttering at 15fps.

  • is this a video mode?

  • @spagget

Nope, the camera shutter is locked down to take continuous photos, then the photos are compiled on the computer using Vdub (free)

  • @takeo17755 WOW!, did you know that their is a shutter life span of a camera?

  • @spagget

Haha I do indeed, I broke one shutter, cost ~£130 to repair, now I have insurance.

  • hey, very cool video. could you tell me how did you fix your camera? did you use a tripod, or something else?

  • Hey, I used a Redsnapper Tripod, held down by the seatbelts on the back seat.

  • thank you!

  • The orange tint, the streaks, the music, very cool!

  • I'm so glad I don't have a car and don't have to drive the bloody thing anywhere. I love my bicycle.

  • @leifharmsen I love my car, and I drive it as much as I can. It's a great experience to drive cars.

  • Does the 450D have a built-in time lapse feature, or how did you get it to keep shooting photos at regular intervals?

  • Hi, No theres no intervolometer in the 450D.

Theres 2 ways around this, 1: Get a remote shutter controller that allows you to lock the shutter down, in continuous shooting mode.

2: Use a laptop (like an EEE pc) and via USB and software like Remote Capture Pro you can set any intervals you like.

  • @ashomsky No, there isn`t such a feature but you can use laptop and software that comes with camera (EOS utility) there`s remote shooting function, but that`s not the best option since (in longer journeys) you have to power your laptop somehow. OR you can use intervalometer(hope i wrote it correct) ;) Good luck shootin` !

  • Hey! thats so cool~ i wonder how long n where u drove to? lol n well done in passing ur driving, when did u pass?

  • Hey Tickie, I drove to Uddingston and back, only about 20 mins =] I passed at the start of June, only got this wee car a couple of weeks ago =]
