  • I'm fourteen and i loved this movie!!! Like a BILLION times better than twilight!

  • @amers963 Maybe you can give me some tips on how to sell this film to my nephews. City Lights is my favorite Chaplin film. I’ve been trying to get my nephews to watch this and other classics for a while now. I haven’t had much luck so far. Any tips? They are 17.

  • @greergarson i'm also seventeen-- this is my favorite Chaplin film as well! I think you need to sell to your audience-- if your nephews love comedy, for example, show them a few short clips of Chaplin's pantomime. If all else fails, have them watch the biopic "Chaplin" (starring Robert Downey Jr.) first-- it's more modern and it sparks an interest in Chaplin.

  • Anyone knows when did they color the world??

    :)

  • 1:52, sounds like the teacher from charlie brown

  • this is frusterating, i need to watch this film for homework and this is the only part not blocked :/ i tried renting it and it's literally no where to be found. does anyone know where i can find this online?? i will love you forever.

  • Chaplin was a genius. I love that you dont need to see one of his movies completely to have a good time, you can just watch 5 minutes and enjoy it like it was an entire movie. This is like to see a lot of shorts in one movie, simply great!

  • Can anybody give me the title of the music beginning at 3:02. I've heard it many places pertaining to Chaplin, but could never find the title :(

  • @beatlesdude1 Chaplin wrote the music and I think it's all from one piece he titled "city lights suite".

  • I wonder if there are behind the scene footage of his movies? U know what year this movie was released? Thanks

  • First time when i saw this movie ( boxing section), I could not stop tears from laughing. 15 years gone by, but from that time Charlie became my Great Favorite Com'dy Actor of all time. Great-Incredible- Typical comedy actor!!

  • 1931!

  • I remember watching this movie all the time with my sisters trying to read the screen as fast as we could we were about 4 or 5 yrs. old. I'm 21 now but even then I knew this was a great movie too bad a lot of people my age don't take the time to appreciate timeless classics.

  • This may be the greatest movie I've ever seen.

  • 1:52 funniest commentary on politicians and sound film (of the early talkies) that I have ever seen! I saw this on the "silver screen" in a big old movie palace. It was priceless. The ending is one of the best moments in cinema history, then and now.
