think i figured out who fretkillr is and how i came to it.it took me 2 days of looking..its fred koller.like (fretkillr)..he wrote with shel sylverstein(harmonica) he wrote lets talk dirty in hawaiian(ukalele)..some suggested his name i looked and listened to everything(including thom bresh)..bresh picks different, no pinky ring on fret..lots of little things pointed to him..he even wore a golf shirt in one video that said dharma and greg open 2001(golf tourney)..see if you agree?

@Plikten Ive heard a few people say that too. Its a good find, but Fret having a slightly different voice, no big beard (in 1 or 2 of his vids you see a small portion of his chin), no thumb-pick (although I do agree that somebody that plays with one can easily play without, but hey, who will do that when you're used to playing with one?) and the fact that none of Fretkillrs guitars appear on one of Tom Besh' vids.

@Plikten + his picking hand position is different, and prefers to pick with 3 fingers and only 5 if he has to. Fret always has 5 fingers positioned.

@Plikten I don't think so. After just a quick look at one of Bresh' clips, it's a different style. Damned good, but, not quite the same as Fretkillr. And, the thumbpick, and, the ring on the little finger. Things that I've never seen in any Fretkillr clip.

@superjet113 ..... not to sure what comments you made that got deleted .... but if is anything like that the harmonica seems to be recorded seperately and hands used to get the effect then I am with you .I dont also diss the guy ... but have noticed many things with the various recordings . They are not always a "one off" performance but seem to be overlaid and edited tracks . Just one instance on tis one .... the lack of a hell of a lot of head movement . This is a hard song on the harp ! .

For all them guitar players who want to try and play this incredible stuff too I figured this out:

- fret's capo is obviously on the second fret

- he plays in E, but with the capo the chords he uses are of course D, G, A

- the low E string is tuned down to D - with the capo, it fits nicely because he can use it as an open string with the main D chord

- the harp he plays so brilliantly is in A

Fretkillr hasn't posted for sometime. Maybe he has just hung up this avenue and has moved on. I sure do miss him though. He was a reason to use You tube. The sun does not seem as bright and the cold nights are colder. I needed a new cover to listen to........ but oh well!

Ya know, I really don't see how they say he has copyrighted material. He is doing covers of songs, some from 30 years ago! A cover is not a copy. At least not the way FretKillr plays. He made each of the covers his own. In many cases, he is better than the original. Youtube really got it wrong by taking off his channel. The guy is great and should be commended. I knew once Google became involved with Youtube, it would get all jacked up. Hey Youtube, you really messed up! Bring him back

im about to call it a day with youtube! i've had enough of its bots shutting accounts. all fret did was do covers. ok he may not have had permission, but its only covers. youtubes full of them. the prob is, anyone can now claim rights to videos and if it happens enough to someones vids their channel gets pulled. happened to a friend of mines by a jealous person who ripped his videos, re-posted and had him shut down. youtube can go to hell!

Personally, I've heard the original so many times it was nice to hear another rendition. I also like how every note can be deciphered due to his camera placement. Also he has a great voice for most of his songs.
