ivncdo0809@ i own one of these guitars but in sunburst finish and maple neck, and I always say that the player must sound dead for the pickups to sound dead , I hear a bunch of crap about most of the gear I use , ( noiseless pickups , elixir strings , fender deville amps , mim guitars ) having lifeless qualities and yet I get more of a ballsy tone on all my "lifless sounding" equipment then most of the stuff that is "full of life" , it's all in the player :) !!

I have the exact same guitar.The only flaw is some pretty rough frets on the fretboard. After a good fret dressing, this guitar is as good as any American made strat and since the noiseless pickups are actually stacked, you can play anything from jazz, blues, rock and metal. One of the best guitars I ever owned! Got it used at Guitar center with additional 15% off for President's Day weekend sale for $346.00 with a case (Not gig bag) incl tax out the door. What a steal!!! Just love it!!!

I have a MIM w/ American pu's, maple neck and I love it. I tried Squiers to the AM STD including several identical MIM's and only one FELT good..thats the one I bought..my point is, try a bunch, get the one that sounds and feels good to YOU..you will be happier..PS..nice playin..

I tried the american deluxe and then this one and man, i couldn't find that much of a difference. of course it was only like 5 min, there has to be a difference if not just the price.

I'm in love with this one but I'm still thinkin' about it. Also they told me at the store that sometimes they are different from one another: sometimes the details are better looked at than the other guitars.

You might have your reservations, but these are very good guitars. I'm planning to buy one when I can. They've got a cool little button that you can hit to turn the 5-way switch to 7-way. They have good sound, high quality noisless pickups. They look quite nice and come in many colors. Not to mention Mexican's have made pretty good guitars in their own right for a while (mostly acoustic). I'm more bias against Asian-made, having owned a problematic Epiphone, but they're decent too.

I used to work in a guitar shop in the UK and we had loads of really really great classic player 60 guitars come through. They sound fantastic! I'd personally go for one of them given the choice.

Nice! I have the same guitar except with a solid fret-board instead of the "plank" set on top of yours. I can't tell what I like better though; the solid fret board or what you have because I have a Gibson SG that has your kind of fret-board.

I prefer Texas Specials, and the Vintage Noiseless. You could also look at the Area 61 by dimarzio for the John Mayer stuff or the HS-3 by dimarzio for the Jimi stuff.
