But doesn't it scale up as I level then? And if I were to get it at level one that freeze/paralyze effect should still be great to take on the game at lvl 1

Xereskyle, I made a daedric sword and slammed blacksmiths potion and imporived it and it does 1000 damage, spool yeah 315 damage is not only possible, its weak

Someone said they augmented their Chillrend to achieve Legendary with 315 damage. Is that even possible??

Hmm... the 300+ probably got help from a high one handed level, perks and one-handed skill boosting armor. But yes, I got a Chillrend that does 300+ damage too. You need to enchant or find 4 pieces of apparel that can do at least 20% but ideally 25%+ smithing boost and have the glass perk and 100 smithing, and buy a potion to boost smithing by 50%. Smith to Legendary and once you level up and get better boosting gear, she does 300+. She could do more if you go all out with crafting.

I didn't know I had to shoot an arrow there, so I did the same way as you did but then WITH the thieves guild quests.

Thanks Olde, great tutorial, worked as you described, never been much into the life of crime, but may do the thieves guild quests one day. The Chillrend is no where comparable to my Daedric Sword @557 damage but I'm a collector of rareties in this game, so it'll look great beside my Dawnbreaker, again thanks a million!

DO NOT TAKE MERCERS PLANS ASWELL IF YOU WANT TO JOIN THE THIEVES GUILD OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT GET NIGHTINGALE ARMOUR OR SKELETON KEY OR BE LEADER OF GUILD. It glitches the game so that you can't do the other quests. So you will have to load the game when you first took it or place it back before the The pursuit quest begins

glad I joined the thieves guild though, never problems with lockpicks and the thieves guild armor (and eventually the nightingale armor) are both very useful for certain occasions

the chillrend is just an enchanted version of the glass sword. in my opinion, it would just be easier to smith a glass sword

@TehNoobzPwner chilrend is better if you get it at character level 46 or higher. it will have more base damage than daedric plus the cool enchants. but only get it after level 46...

mmh my daedcric swords do 247 dmg + 46 frost and 46 fire... don't know how chillrend scales into lvl 34 but i don't think it will be better,anyway thx for the vid,it's still an unique sword and i hate to do quests that require stealth,as even with the ebony mail enemies see me like from 3 rooms far-.-

@bradycorcoran just upgrade it with blacksmith skill,use a gear enchanted to increase blacksmith and drink a pot too,u can get around 550 dmg if u have 100 alchemy too but that's too boring for me.... anyway now the swords do 376 dmg each and i'll keep em like this

@bradycorcoran u can buy decent potion at the potion vendors in the cityes,but if u want a good potion the only way is to make it urself... enchant all what u can to increase alchemy before doing potions,use the Krosis mask ,u can find a lot of vids about how to get it,and if u have a penitus oculatus helmet from dark brotherhood quests u can wear it with the mask,it's a nice bug:P
