Funny thing is that Lifield chose artist Pat Lee to work for image and then pat lee got more high profile jobs. His art is terrible. There is nothing to say in defence of it. If you try, you are simply a fool without a brian, taste, or anything else that could be used as a tool in judging something objectively.
Rob Liefeld was tremendously overrated back in the 90's, but I find it really hard to hate on the dude 20 years later. He's always had a tremendous passion for the medium he works in and since this interview his work has become a lot more polished. If you check out some of his modern work like The Infinite or Deadpool Corps you'd see he's become a standard talent. Not great, mind you. But standard.
I just think there's worse artists working in comics today who deserve our attention now.

But aside from his drawing, his repeated screwing people out of earned credit, money, and keeping their artwork(Rick Veitch's) shows how much a sad, pathetic person he is.
If you want an illustrator that actually deserves the amount of credit this joker gets then look at Edurardo Risso (100 Bullets). His linework is pretty linier but it's brilliant how he boarders between realistic to cartoony. That and he actually takes care with his compositions and dosen't say 'screw it' like Liefeld obviously does.

I just watched "comic book greats: Will Eisner" and I clicked over to this for a laugh. Talk about going from one end of the spectrum to the other.
Will Eisner : Total class with more talent than most artists could ever dream of with a unique and spirited personality and original ideas.
Rob Liefeld: Bottom of the barrel, uninspired hack who got a lucky break. He's got a personality to match his boring, derivative artwork. Never had an original thought. Three words: No formal training.

I don't think Liefeld is a bad artist, I think he was just lazy. A lot of his drawings looked really rushed (I mean REALLY rushed). But honestly, I've seen worst artwork in comics before. He can draw some really amazing stuff when he's not rushing it, just take a look at the web comic he draws.

Rob Liefeld couldn't draw feet for several years in the comic industry, he still can't in my opinion and his proportions are ridiculous. He is just living proof, that anyone can make it in drawing. You don't have to go to school to get hired...which is good and sometimes bad.
Alex Ross cant draw without photo references. Period. And most of his best penciling, was done by Doug Brathwhite, his old assistant. All his male characters look old and fat. And if all that weren't enough, he is a enormous douchebag.

I just watched "comic book greats: Will Eisner" and I clicked over to this for a laugh. Talk about going from one end of the spectrum to the other.
Will Eisner : Total class with more talent than most artists could ever dream of with a unique and spirited personality and original ideas.
Rob Liefeld: Bottom of the barrel, uninspired hack who got a lucky break. He's got a personality to match his boring, derivative artwork. Never had an original thought. Three words: No formal training.

Rob's art, amongst others, really influenced me to draw in high school. I understand how people say he is a bad artist, but he influenced a lot of people back in the day. So the fact that he can't draw feet, or the fact that he draws some characters like they have multiple scerosis

@MulletPuppet I couldn't agree more: it's a matter of personal humiliation that I actually liked his illustrations eighteen years ago, at the tender age of eight....Be it overmuscled males or females without a digestive tract, but massive mammaries, Liefeld successfully proves that bad taste is fairly well-received by the public...If Rob Liefeld were my son, I'd....send him to art school, immediately after school...Maybe he'd go to industrial arts, and spare the comic art genre a great deal.

I don't think Liefeld is a bad artist, I think he was just lazy. A lot of his drawings looked really rushed (I mean REALLY rushed). But honestly, I've seen worst artwork in comics before. He can draw some really amazing stuff when he's not rushing it, just take a look at the web comic he draws.

Rob Liefeld couldn't draw feet for several years in the comic industry, he still can't in my opinion and his proportions are ridiculous. He is just living proof, that anyone can make it in drawing. You don't have to go to school to get hired...which is good and sometimes bad.

Alex Ross draws without photo references all the time. He stated that he still learns a lot from photo references so he still uses them for comics. Also, his work with Brathwhite is his worst. Brathwhite's figures just aren't good enough to match Alex Ross's paints.
