  • As I am Assistant Lead at the Stone Mountain RR I can verify that both diesels in the video are operating at Stone Mountain. 3499 is 6147 and 3498 is 6143. The 6100 series was the original numbers while on Southern RR. 6143 has been completely rebuilt with a new 645E prime mover and all new rotating equipment, new brake system, new traction motors and new paint scheme. 6147 is in the shop being completely rebuilt and will be out of the shop and on the trains before the end of the year.

  • Where is that engine and the F7's now??? Awesome footage!

  • @DJGENEX71

The steamer is at the Southeastern Railroad Museum, one of the FP7's is at the North Carolina Transportation Museum and the other is at the Stone Mountain Railroad in Georgia.

  • @CarNutandTrainNut2 actually, both of these FP7's are at Stone Mountain. The one at NCTM is #6133, these to were #6143 and #6147.

  • Great Lima built 4-6-2, there's some great memories here and I see 2 F7s. The Steamer and these F units were enemies during the steam to diesel change over during the mid 1950s. Great video.

The Norfolk Southern used her on 4 trips that would have been covered by the 611
