I have eight more months of unemployment left and I hope I can find a job by then to support my family. This is crazy. Got fired for being black, filed my lawsuit against the federal gov. Bad times bring out the best AND worst in people. And there's no guarantee the US will survive in it's current form. But otherwise he's right, people are going to have to hustle instead of relying on jobs.
But how can you strive foward when goverment and the banks are holding you back? You can't get no loan banks are not loaning. Goverment has all kinds of red tape and high taxes you might get a loan if you have a high credit score or alot of money sitting in the bank but thats it.
I used to live in Rancho Cucamonga. I loved it. It WAS a great place to live, but the good old days are over. I've lived in 5 different states in the past two years. The economy and job market is the same everywhere I've been. Fortunately, I was able to get an online job that is helping me to survive, but my living situation is a far cry from what it used to be. I admire the guy for his optimism, but I don't share it. It is going to get a lot worse. My advise? Get prepared if you can.
Well now, just today I talked to a local lady that had to tell the city she couldn't pay her water bill in one chunk. She has to split it up with 4 days in-between the two payments so she can pay it. Thankfully, our city is still a good one, and they understood.....

There is no productive capacity. Yet despite this the Federal Reserve continues to spend trillions and trillions of dollars on bailing out the too bigs to fail. You can't keep on printing up phanton money backed by nothing and producting nothing withoug destroying the US economy. 80% of the US economy is consumer credit!

That is the spirit! Why not start a tent restraunt? Just get a pot and a lamb or some beef and make a soup or stew. Get a friend to make a loaf of bread and set up some tables and start selling. Take what ever you can for a bowl of soup and a bit of bread. Hire someone to make the stew... Imagine the possiblities! This is true economy and no license or permission required. No business license required only the consent of the tent dwellers. Ignore the state.

The biggest problem that I see is that it's not that we are lacking the entrepreneurial mentality but that there are way too many Federal, state and local regulations for the little home based guys to break into the market without having to hire lawyers and accountants scarfing up already slender resources and driving prices higher.

I used to live in Rancho Cucamonga. I loved it. It WAS a great place to live, but the good old days are over. I've lived in 5 different states in the past two years. The economy and job market is the same everywhere I've been. Fortunately, I was able to get an online job that is helping me to survive, but my living situation is a far cry from what it used to be. I admire the guy for his optimism, but I don't share it. It is going to get a lot worse. My advise? Get prepared if you can.

Well now, just today I talked to a local lady that had to tell the city she couldn't pay her water bill in one chunk. She has to split it up with 4 days in-between the two payments so she can pay it. Thankfully, our city is still a good one, and they understood.....

Sadly.. there is not going to be a lot of "communitiy" cohension in places like Rancho Cucamonga. I was there from 1996-2009... the city too drivable and the rise in gas prices with all the services far apart... will make things dysfunctional.. it might die out instead....
To think I had to spend years in isolated home barely knowing my neighbors for years!
Because of that in 2008, when I was 15-16.. I fought for more sociable and walkable development in the council meetings..!

I think the jobs picture gets bleaker. We are just at the beginning of outsourcing. Almost every job that can be outsourced will be outsourced in the future. Unless we are willing to take a drastic paycut, the jobs will be rare. Physical Labor? Sorry, many will (and already have been) be outbid by illegals.
