so i'm an American and an avid NFL fan. i want some football to watch in the offseason, so i decided to follow the CFL. my only problem is who to cheer for. persuade me Canada.
I'm a huge rider fan myself and I must say this speech gave me chills when I watched it, definitly one of the best speeches ever, not just in the CFL, but in any sport.
First off Many great NFL players got their starts in the CFL. Joe Thiesman was an Argo, Warren Moon was an Eskimo. A number of great NFL players have come north to play in the CFL . It has helped with their development. Then there have been NFL players that thought the CFL would be easy and the came up here and got their asses kicked. Vince Ferragamo and Rickie Willams are just two... of many.
@skulakk there is no problem but if you have ever played sports in your life you would know that when you have pretty much everything stacked against you it fires you up to take it down so yes it was just a bunch of obvious facts but thoughs facts probably won them the game
To bad that we CFL fans can't enjoy a simple CFL video without all these ignorant CFL bashers and their grade 2 comments. It's one thing to not like the CFL but it's another thing to post immature comments, especially from this so called future NFL-er, Isaiah Brown. Would love to see him at any CFL training camp and have him put in his place. Here's hoping EVERY NFL cuts him and he comes begging to play up here.
I'm a college football fan, but Canadian Football is a great contact sport. So is Australia's NRL (National Rugby League). Just because it's not from the US, doesn't mean it's not enjoyable and worthwhile to watch.

The CFL has different players then the NFL for most of their postions. it's a diffirent game that requires a different style of player. if the NFL changed to CFL rules right now, half the players in the NFL would be cut for CFL players. you can't have 360LBS lineman in the CFL, they get killed, due to the 20 second clock, the smaller roster and the speed of the CFL game, you can't have 250LB in the CFL either, since LB in the CFL cover the Rec and slotbacks

@jeffss04 No it's not what the NFL is about, but it is what the CFL is about. They are are two different games and everyone single person can argee with that. Everyone can also argee that the NFL is 'the show' and the CFL is secondary. Which is exactly why they have rules to make the game more wide open and more 'exciting' the CFL has to compete with the NFL so people watch it, and guess what its the 98th grey cup so yeah it's doing a pretty good job because we watch it, and we love it.

Truth be told, NFL clearly has better players, there's no arguing that. Anyone who tries to argue that is an idiot. But, the rules are better in the CFL 3 downs, wider field so there's more passing, not rushing for 2-3 yards every down. Also the players have more heart. Saying the CFL is crap because the NFL has better players is retarded, I guess we shouldn't watch college football or high school football either. Around half of all players in the CFL are Canadian. The rule breakdown is roughly that there must be at very minimum 20 Canadian players on a team of 42. Maximum of 19 imports, the rule gets tricky when the QB card is tossed in the mix because there is no designation of whether your QB has to be an Import or Non-Import. To say that most of the players are American can be a bit of an uneducated statement. The numbers are probably closer than you may think.

The CFL has different players then the NFL for most of their postions. it's a diffirent game that requires a different style of player. if the NFL changed to CFL rules right now, half the players in the NFL would be cut for CFL players. you can't have 360LBS lineman in the CFL, they get killed, due to the 20 second clock, the smaller roster and the speed of the CFL game, you can't have 250LB in the CFL either, since LB in the CFL cover the Rec and slotbacks

@jeffss04 No it's not what the NFL is about, but it is what the CFL is about. They are are two different games and everyone single person can argee with that. Everyone can also argee that the NFL is 'the show' and the CFL is secondary. Which is exactly why they have rules to make the game more wide open and more 'exciting' the CFL has to compete with the NFL so people watch it, and guess what its the 98th grey cup so yeah it's doing a pretty good job because we watch it, and we love it.

Truth be told, NFL clearly has better players, there's no arguing that. Anyone who tries to argue that is an idiot. But, the rules are better in the CFL 3 downs, wider field so there's more passing, not rushing for 2-3 yards every down. Also the players have more heart. Around half of all players in the CFL are Canadian. The rule breakdown is roughly that there must be at very minimum 20 Canadian players on a team of 42. Maximum of 19 imports, the rule gets tricky when the QB card is tossed in the mix because there is no designation of whether your QB has to be an Import or Non-Import. To say that most of the players are American can be a bit of an uneducated statement. The numbers are probably closer than you may think.

@LordBillGates Try play CFL style football. Its much harder then NFL football. Cfl has an extra player, one less down, bigger field, and bigger ball. Dont say the CFL sucks because its a completely different twist on the game. I've played both CFL rules and NFL rules and CFL is much harder.

@LordBillGates Your way to much of an ignorant fuck to understand what I was getting at. Of course the best players play in the NFL its much more well known, way bigger paycheck. And I know that the CFL has way less talented players. They're still all talented but not as much. If you've played CFL and NFL style football, which you clearly haven't you would understand what the fuck I'm getting at. Yes, the nfl is better because they're the bigger organization.

@LordBillGates Cfl is a better game its a faster and more polished game. the passing game is better without a doubt, the feild is not only longer but its wider, there are 3 downs and generally you see scores like 35-21 or something along those lines i saw more than 5 or 6 nfl games last year that were 6-3 thats boring football if you ask me... CFL is a better game in my opinion. oh salary is lower so you dont have whiney bitches in the Cfl as often as NFL either. so STFU and dont diss CFL bitch.

I never said I did or ever will. What I did say was I've played with CFL rules before and NFL rules before. Doug Flutie by the way, was not garbage in the NFL.
