  • Dennis Tufano absolutely sang the original song....Carl played guitar on the early songs and sang backup as is obvious on this clip.

  • I just would like to clarify the fact that it wasn't Carl Giammarese who sang Don't You Care at the Smothers Brothers Show in 1967 but Dennis Tufano.

  • I saw the Bucks, as part of a nostalgia show in the 90s; and it's always nice to hear these old great songs; Carl & Nick were a part of the Bucks success back in the day. BUT...please, let's face it, Carl's vocals can never be compared to how Dennis sang them all. Dennis is touring once more (so please give him equal time); he is in better voice than ever!! Have already got tickets to see Dennis at the BB King Club in NYC next January!

  • did they take their name from the famed buckingham fountain in chi town or something? Eh anyway I grew up listining to the oldies radio station so I appreciate old music when people actualy could play. not that I dont like techno I do its just that actually playing something takes more dedication.

  • Thanks for posting this! Great band and they done a great job here too. I saw them in Valparaiso, IN at the popcorn fest a few years ago. Grew up listening to them on WCFL and WLS AM Chicago radio in the 60's.

  • Oh Danke !!

  • Even though I am Dennis Tufano fan, I will buy tickets to see the Bucks in Westbury, LI for this coming October.

  • OHHHHH Great song !! I love it sooo much !! Thanks !!

  • LOVE IT, thanks for posting this. "Whatever happened to the good times we used to have..." still amazing!

  • 5 star voice still

  • Sorry - for me, it's all wrong without Dennis' vocals

  • I thought I'd feel that way too, until I heard the Bucks' latest live CD, and heard them in concert. Carl Giammarese and Nick Fortuna have really good voices that not many got to hear in the 60s as they were always backup vocals with guitars in focus. Check out their website at thebuckinghams(dotcom) and listen to the mp3s. Dennis sounds good as Bobby Darin in his Darin tribute show, so for me, Dennis 'is' Bobby Darin and Giammarese and Fortuna 'are' The Buckinghams, I guess.

  • Taking nothing from Carl! He has a great voice and I've listened for years. Check out the Tufano Giammarese albums from the early '90s... so good. But Dennis just has a vocal quality that to me IS the Buckinghams I remember.

  • Great song, and the lead singer today, Carl, still has a great voice. This song brings back memories of transistor radios, 45s, and getting through on the request line to the DJ...none of that preprogrammed pablum that commercial radio feeds on...thank goodness for XM 60s on 6 channel.

  • These guys used to practice 3 doors down from my closest friends house on the near northwest side of Chicago

  • Carl wrote new songs for Reaching Back, newest CD. Dennis sang lead til 82, when he quit. Carl has sung lead ever since. Holvay and Beisbier wrote song in this clip. see Bucks web site for history and info on new CD

  • "Don't you care," written by Holvay and Beisbier. Bucks' new CD has 8 great new songs written by Carl, who sings lead since 1982. Dennis was original lead singer (old clips)til 1982, then quit. Carl and Nick started band again, touring 25 yrs now-great shows, great sound.

  • To clarify, Dennis was original lead. For 25 years Carl has been lead. He and Nick tour with their band and audiences really enjoy them. New CD has 8 of Carl's new songs that sound great. Holvay and Beisbier wrote the song in this clip.

  • Actually, in the 60s, Dennis sang lead. Song was written by Holvay and Beisbier. In 1982, Carl took the lead. He and Nick added 3 guys who have been touring for 25 years and sound terrific. New CD on their web site. Check it out.

  • In the 60s, Dennis sang lead. Since 1982, Carl has been lead singer and does super job. Nick Fortuna on bass/vocals. Dennis had a nice voice but gave up to be an actor. Carl, Nick, and group sound great. Check out their web site and hear live concert CD clips. Song written by Holvay/Beisbier/Guercio is label credit. Carl wrote 8 new songs on latest CD-they are authentic Bucks' sound, but new.

  • Carl has been lead singer since 1982; Dennis was lead in the 60s. I prefer Carl's singing and live concert performances with Nick Fortuna and 3 other great musicians--Tom, Bob, and Bruce, been together. New CD out sounds fantastic--new music but 60s sound plus the old hits..check out their web site for facts.

  • Actually, the YouTube clip of the 60s is Dennis singing lead as he did then. Carl has been the excellent lead singer since 1982; have heard him in concert several times and he does all songs in original key, with Nick Fortuna on bass and vocals, they both still sound great and look young. Check out smctopia's other clips and see how good they still are, better actually

  • to his left is Nuck Fortuna, the two original members of the Buckinghams...

  • But didn't Dennis Tufano sing the original lead vocals? I'm sorry, but I still think this sounds so-so, at best.

  • JingleCollector, I'm not an expert on The Buckinghams, but I agree with you, I thought Carl wrote the song but Dennis Tufano was the lead singer. I think we need a comment from "BuckinghamSongPlayer" to clear this up LOL!! Later, Jimmy aka BeatleSongPlayer

  • This is just painful! That isn't the original lead singer is it?!!??! Gawd!

  • he's not in his 20s anymore...wtf do you expect????

  • Thanks for posting. Been looking for it's return. Do you have the other hits from this concert. I think they did a medley covering Susan, Kind of a Drag, Mercy???

  • I have a few more clips. I'll try to add soon.
