  • how did you avoid the copyright problems? i uploaded a video with only the solo of no quarter (this same version) and youtube blocked my video...how did u reach?!?!

  • @Waiting7up i didnt do anything. only uploaded the video!

  • @phr359

ah, ok! it's good for you!

  • @phr359 good job

  • 4:34-4:48 is the best part of the song!!!

  • Thanks for uploading the full version.

It always blows my mind when i hear Jimmy playing the part of the solo on 7:10

  • I just hope they dont take this down , YT is stil lon tear for pulling zep !

  • How is there different versions of a live album!?

  • Comment removed

  • at last found it

  • Yes , this IS the absolute best live version of No Quarter ever done. This was on the original vinyl release of TSRTS . Many version of this same song have had the organ solo and the pre guitar solo drum , organ and Jimmy interaction cut up . Even the movie version isnt as good . I have heard this version hundreds of times and it still makes my whole body numb ! And yes , true to my screen-name I did see them in 77 , Oakland , Saturday , Unreal

  • @sawthemin77 great story! when i was born LZ was already gone. i agree. this is the best version for no quarter. jimmy was perfect. all were perfect!

  • @sawthemin77 lucky bastard!!!

  • This is THE version from the movie/soundtrack screw up, the other solos don't so it...happy birthday Jimmy...

  • john paul jones

  • You get Bonzos sixteenth beat during the guitar solo with this version, and on a whole both solos are longer, this is the best live version of No Quarter, thanks for the post...John Paul Jones, piano

  • D: This is amazing! Much better than the Houses of the Holy version.

  • This extended version contains one of the best Page's solos. I still wonder why LZ didn't used this shrill and strident hard rock style on studio.

  • This song gives me a feeling that I am the last man on Earth walking through a desert.

    Haha.

  • Stunning....Absolutely amazing work. Thank you for this upload.....

  • zep did two live shows in Madison Square Gardens - during which they made audio and video recordings of both..

The theatrical version included the best visual images from both concerts, and the sound-track included the best audio from both concerts.

  • @BeyondNeptune I kindly disagree with one thing, they didn't use the 'best' audio. This version that has been posted is of better audio to me for three reasons. No screw ups by JPaul on this one, no interference by Bonzo during the organ section, and it's not... NOT edited down. The film version of this song is poorly edited, and the voice modulation during which Plant screams. "Goooooooooooooes" is not present. It adds to the esoteric for me. Just my own opinion. Also, it took TWO directors.

  • @Polt318 ok. Makes sense to me...

  • keith richards caught mick jagger listening to this and he is still sulking.

  • @horse69outside Keith Richards once said.. "Fuck it.. Jimmy Page IS Led Zeppelin". It's funny to me, but, when you think about it.. the original vision for this band was his. With the break up of the Yardbirds, and the remnants of a recording contract, he put this thing together. The rest, as J. Paul Jones said was, "instant chemistry". JP had already known of Page's session work, and heard that he was putting that together, and called Page himself for a chance to audition. Provident, eh?

  • I have been on the youtube for along time now, looking for THIS PARTICULAR recording of No Quarter from "The Song Remains the Same". There is this one, the one that was on the released movie, that although edited, is still slightly different than this one, (as in, Plant's first verbalizing of 'where no one goes" is sang in a different pitch, and Bonzo's keeping quiet during JP's organ solo... ).. thank you for the upload subby!

  • @Polt318 yeah, thats why i upload it. youtube didnt have this version until now. i've upload all the songs from the album The Song Remains the Same.

    (:

  • @phr359 I had this album as a teen. I listened to this version so many damned times... like, okay.. the person that whistles during that middle break in JP's organ solo.. almost dead center of it. I also love the unedited guitar solo on this one.. and the lead up to it. When I first heard this version yesterday, for the first time in years, I remembered every nuance as if I were home again. I was poignant.

  • @phr359 Me too, I have been looking for this one. Just like the one on my LP. Thank you!

  • @Polt318 Same is true for me!

The solo in this performance is so incredible and unfortunately there is a much shorter version of the solo on the "The Song Remains The Same" CD of 2007.

    Thanks for uploading phr359!

  • @Polt318

Thank you, man. I have been looking too. But none in the market now. I had the tapes and when they were busted due to playing them over and over, I got myself the vinyl. That was in 83. So when I saw it's a 12:33 min recording, this has got to be it. I had movie too, but this is what I want to hear for many long years looking.

  • @Polt318 yes, but I was looking for this version because this solo is not from the earth. jimmy let jones plays the chords before the guitar solo. this guitar is on top five of my list. @ ph359 thanks for upload this!

  • thank you for bringing back high school memories

  • Of all the Zep I've heard...my favourite Page solo and my favourite Bonham drumming....masters at the height of their art...............KW

  • Thanks for posting this full version. KW
