The fact of the matter is YOU are WHO you are because of the church, and how you were raised. The fact that you're happy outside the church doesn't really prove much of anything about the Mormon Church other than it's changed you forever to be a good person. You've taken the principles of the church to your life, therefore making it better, it has nothing to do with the fact you hold the title of "Mormon" but the fact that you accept and hold true the principles.

Retract actually means to withdraw a claim or statement, not "erase" it, but it wasn't the word's definition I was referring to. Nohongo wa muzukashi da ne? I served in Japan too (about 30 years ago.) Some people quit the church because of lifestyle or doctrine. I went through some tough times myself, but I always believed the testimony in the Book of Mormon. It always brought me home. My friend, the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I don't say that lightly. If I could do another mission, I would. I thank God for the Book of Mormon.

The text of the Book bears no relation at all to the sensen papyrus and also the papyri is the wrong age to even have been written by Abraham! However, when you delve deeper into the doctrine of the LDS, you will notice that the emphasis is steered more toward works( being faithful) than on Jesus and His sacrifice.
Mormonism is what is known as a counterfeit religion. There is just enough truth in it to make it very DANGEROUS. Dangerous because it diminishes Jesus the Christ by teaching that we can all be gods and goddesses through WORKS. Salvation can only be obtained through GRACE. That grace comes from Jesus and ONLY from Jesus. He alone was able to pay the price for our sins by His death on the cross of Calvary. He paid a price we could not pay. Now all we must do to receive salvation is to accept Him.

You see, satan is very cunning, He knows us very well. He knows that we are very emotional beings and can be swayed easily. So he useses his evil influence to draw us to a false light. Look at Mormonism for example. Strong family values, clean cut image. dedicated to their cause, etc. These are all admirable qualities. However, when you delve deeper into the doctrine of the LDS, you will notice that the emphasis is steered more toward works( being faithful) than on Jesus and His sacrifice.

Mormonism is what is known as a counterfeit religion. There is just enough truth in it to make it very DANGEROUS. Dangerous because it diminishes Jesus the Christ by teaching that we can all be gods and goddesses through WORKS. Salvation can only be obtained through GRACE. That grace comes from Jesus and ONLY from Jesus. He alone was able to pay the price for our sins by His death on the cross of Calvary. He paid a price we could not pay. Now all we must do to receive salvation is to accept Him.

Good for you Robert! Coming out of the Mormonism is not always easy, as people believe...they just don't tolerate that! Apparently God couldn't say what he intended without the influence of Joseph Smith. Jehovah Witness is another one. God is easy to serve and frees us from the enslavement's of man...in the name of religion. Since I been with the Assemblies of God church, I've never been happier, no turning back for us!
