  • Ignore last, posted by accident

  • you are very very good .. thanxz for posting , respect ... mohamed ismael

  • Good Good!!

  • Great technique!

  • So what's wing chun then?

  • I saw a vid that said that wing chun theory was to destroy and opponents centerline by taking the route of least resistance. Never attacking force on force.

  • What a teacher! So many clubs have these lines of people training up and down following this guy like a spec on the horizon - here is a teacher working with his student, and they look like (what do you know) like they are both having fun. The session is "total information".

  • I studied WC under Dave Anderson (under Tsui Sheung Tin lineage) for 8 years. 90% of WC community as compitent as they are, nevertheless are missing many simple points. Linear to counter circles and circles to counter linear. In our school we learned to box and trained to throw choy le fut "haymakers" to keep things real. Inadvertently we got really good at hooks and learned to throw in-close hooks that complemented WC linear progressions - we never looked back.

  • "Lop Sao" is also a hook punch. I find it quite amusing when people seem to imply that wing chun has no hook punches. There is no need to add to the style. It has always had hooking actions.

  • I think the Sifu here did a good job in explaining some of the basic techniques from the wooden dummy, he seems to have a good understanding of Wing Chun...

  • Excellent Analysis. I havent some across anyone that breaks things down like that.

  • That's the best piece of advice that I've heard from someone besides the wise things that my current Sifu (who happens to be more like a big brother, actually) always tells me. You're right; and I came to that conclusion a very long time ago. I was simply sharing my learning background. No biggie. I first began learning Wing Chun Twenty-four years ago from Moy Yat.

  • I was wondering who you were ? you trained with Moy Yat 24 years ago in NYC'S Chinatown, wll so did I.. please tell me your name..I'd be interested to know who you are but I might already have a clue.. Thanks

  • This is simply awesome! Who is this Sifu? It looks like Sigung Cheung Traditional Wing Chun. Is it?

  • Hi Narayanr, Michael learnt from many teachers, but main influence is from Ng Chong Hong (WSL and Jui Wan lineage)

  • This is awesome; I should've known! Currently, I am training under Sifu Kevin Gledhill in New York City. For many years he was a Sifu in the Victor Kan Ving Tsun lineage, but for some years now, he's switched to the WSL method, as well!

His current teacher is one of Wong Shun Leung's sudents from Germany. His name is Sifu Bayer from Menden, Germany. In the past, I've also learned from Sifu Henry Leung from the Buddha Hand lineage of Wing Chun.

  • Thats great! However, at the end of the day, your WC should be a reflection of your own character, not a clone of someone elses, as it is an individual thing. Good luck with the training.

  • Also, if you are or any of your colleagues visit London, you are welcome to visit Michael anytime. He is very humble and always share.

  • Trust me, as soon as I can I'll definitely go there! Thanks for the invite!

  • where do you train?

  • Michael trains with his students in south London (UK). Area of Lewisham

  • did the Sifu here train with Master James Sinclair of London ? just curious...

  • Hello Jamay4, he trained with a few teachers, including Nino Bernado and then with Ng Chun Hong in HK.
