Commercial's goal isn't that to show the real life, this have to understand when we show it. They give the feeling that the product is very special and valuable. I think...
To "create a feeling of well-being and happiness" is just that: to a created feeling, not reality. If Nivea's ad agency was trying to achieve that, then why didn't they just cast real people, a real family for this TV spot? I asked 4 of the top casting directors. They all answered basically "It is too hard to find an actual family that is not just camera-beautiful, but also one that is this loving and happy."
Illusions by over-paid, nicoteine & caffeine fueled ad shop "creatives". Yawn...
@HunterMann I didn't say you had to have a 'dress code' to make conscious decisions to buy a certain brand or type of product. You misunderstood.
I work in advertising too, I'm not over paid, I don't smoke and I actually don't drink coffe either. Your statements are generalised. Perhaps you are just bored and happiness real - or implied through wishful thinking has the opposite effect on you. Or perhaps the concept of wanting something else, be it material or otherwise is lost on you.
Hello, is there an ad agency affiliated with this commercial? If so do you know who produced it? I'd love to have some information about it if possible. Thanks.
@worldcitizen54 He worked on over 300 TV commercials and saw how the tricks of the trade are done. He also loves dreaming, but this commercial is a fantasy of a dream, it is a sugar-coated, feel-good illusion, and its sole purpose is to sell Nivea products(tested on animals, containing petroleum bi-products, etc.). TV was created as a way to deliver the consumer to the advertiser.
It must be great to be white & affluent like this family. Secret revealed: none of these people are related. They were simply found through a casting & modeling agency. This TV spot is not selling us a product, they are selling us a lifestyle, one which is supposed to make us think that the only healthy, wholesome family is white, affluent and has 4 children and a still-living pair of grandparents... keep dreaming and consuming.
@HunterMann either that or your perspective is terribly jaded. The purpose was to create a feeling of well-being and happiness - which Nivea would like consumers to associate their brand with.
Your insights into the advert are a better reflection of you than of the advert. Ask yourself whether you buy goods, such as food and clothes. Then ask yourself if you have preferences regarding which clothes and what food you buy. Probably the answer is yes. Hence the need for advertising.
@MogoMuscle A jaded perspective? Maybe you can say that about anyone who has worked on TV commercials, and commercial photo shoots. (Because we work "bask stage at the magic show" is jaded? Okay.)
My point is that we are sold an image that is often false. Example: a photo shoot last month for a major fashion brand. Every "romantic" couple were actually gay men paired up with female mdels who are so malnourished that they have little sex drive(gay or straight).

First of all, I work on the other side of the camera, we have no dress code. Often times a commercial director that makes $10,000 a day shows up in old blue sweat pants and a threadbare dress short that hasn't been ironed. He dresses that way all the time(at work and at home).
The song was actually available for free, download at some website. I just googled the song... I still have it, so if anyone is interested in the full mp3, let me know.
