the guy on the 250r isnt even trying. i own a 07 400z and an 85 350x.there very equl in races.and all the people talkin about 660 raptors. the 660 raptor is slow off the star my 400z whoops the crap out of 700 raptors from 0-50mph then the raptor well pass me for the win. but in small 100-150 yard drags the raptors are not good. but i like the raptor there cool machines.

Trikes will almost never win in a race because if you accelerate to fast the front will come up and flip over. The rider has to go slower in the start and often a bad start.

Weight also has a lot to do with it. If the guy on the 250 likes Cheeseburgers then that's a big disadvantage. But those 250r's are very lightweight. It's tough getting off the line without hitting a wheelie.

You cannot determine anything from this video. There are plent of 250R's that will beat 450's, but there are plenty of 450's that will be 250R's.

A good running ATC250R will beat a TRX450R. That's all there is to it. This video here is not how a typical race between the two would go. Too many unknown factors to give an accurate reason why the 250R did not win. 450's are fast, and I do like them, but prefer a 2 stroke.

I gurantee you a 450 4-stroke will accelerate through its bottom end WAY faster than a 2-stroke becuz bottom end on a 4-stroke is like 0-5 5-10 10-25 then the top end is all speed bottom end on a 2-stroke is so long...I rode a blaster 200 very wild but bad accel. I coudln't catch up to a BIG BEAR 250 UTILITY until I made it to the top end..

but maybe this is becuz it is a blaster; blasters maybe suck then..I've raced a banshee with a 250ex and was ahead until half way through 3rd..so idk

MP racing used to modify cylinders to make them work on R engines, but MP went out of business. If you look up "Polonda engine" on Google, you'll find an article about it on ATV Connection with videos from 2001. The one they tested was a 389cc and had 75 horsepower; they also made one in 440cc & 490cc all on the stock R crank. With a stroker, you can probably go into the 500's. Or you could get a Pro-X 370, or a "Sabertooth" kit that makes it a 500. Any of them could beat a 450r hands down.

Get the cases modified and put a ported Polaris Scrambler 400 or Sportsman 400 cylinder on your stock R bottom end. No 450r will ever touch you in a race again. Even a heavily modded Banshee would have a hard time keeping up.
