  • see that here avatz ... net change ... to .

  • Jerry lee's my uncle.

  • 0:24 One of the gangbangers from Gran Torino.

0:44 Bee Vang from Gran Torino.

    :D

  • hey i wanna see this movie!!!!!!!!

  • what does the title have to do with the movie?

is this going to be all about gangsters? mm...

  • Where can I see this movie??? Can I watch it online? I mean I like the trailer but I just wanna watch the movie.

  • I wish I had a chance to fix the sound and music for this trailer.

  • I love this movie! I seen it so many times!

  • Wow!!!..interesting...good job

  • oh yea mine dreams are to become a professional fisher and hunter. still working on it at the moment.

  • i am a pro hunter and fisher

  • oh yea, prove it by showing all your trophy's. on youtube, with a picture of you in there, not some ramdom pic from the internet either.

  • the trailer look's good. i like that its look so much like hollywood. i see you fufilling most (hmong) people dreams. by dream i mean the american dream which made all of our ancestor came here in the frist place. to be happy in what your doing following your dreams. keep up the good work.

  • I admire Kang's persistence on not trying to follow the norm and trying to elevate film making. Yall gotta remember that he usually has no budget and that his actors are not full time actors. His crew are all volunteers. I bet you if a big company gave him a big budget to shoot a movie, you'd be surprise at the outcome. It's hard to make a good movie without any money, but he's done a good job so far, let's hope a big producer recognizes his talent..

  • Thanks man. I really appreciate your words. We are students of the art, and are driven by our passion to create something that will benefit our community. Even if we make no money from this, we know that we followed our gut and did things our way. Most people take this sort of energy for granted. Thanks again for the support.

  • It's ok yangx273. It's unfair that we Hmong filmmakers are expected to make better films than Hollywood to be acknowledged. You don't see these kids like supermusicman going around on forums posting about other movies, and how they are copies of other movies. Nope. They come right back to their own people. We artists are the sacrificial lambs of our community. We try to do something positive for our people, but our our own brothers and sisters will be the first ones to try to bring us down.

  • Hi Kang, When would you start using 24p?

Or are you avoiding that for now?

  • I actually shot this movie in 24p, however it wasn't necessary. I would shoot it in 24 if I were to transfer it to film in the future.

  • @supermusicman I don't believe you really know what it means to "put some effort into it". Like so many people say, it's SOO simple to criticize something, but at least see it before you make all these assumptions. The trailer IS a bit misleading and could be better.

Ask anyone who knows something about Hmong people and film making. Kang is doing what no other Hmong film maker has done and that's push the envelope. I don't see people like you producing anything. Stay on the keyboards bro.

  • @yangx273 Sorry to say you don't push the envelope with copied movies. But if this is your definition of good enough. ...I guess there is a long way to go.

  • Looks like a great cast! I can't wait to see the movie, but i do have to agree with the comments below, the trailer does make it look like The Crow by Brandon Lee. I hope it's not. Great looking trailer, picture quality is nice.

  • I love the people that come on here afraid to see Hmong people experience success. Sadly enough it is another Hmong person 90% of the time. Sadly again none of these people will attempt to create anything, they just want to make sure no one does it if they can't.

Fallen City is similar to The Crow, but very different at the same time. Props to Kang! All you other guys can go back to pretending The Crow and Lord of the Rings is original in itself. Is James Cameron's Avatar "original"?

  • @yangx273 LOL. ...of course we wanna see hmong people do well but at the same time if you're going to do something don't copy a movie and make it look worst than the original. and yes not all movies are original but you are only naming the few that are not and there is thousands that are original. all I'm saying is if you're going to do something put some effort into it with your own ideas. Even those OG's Laos movies are done better and most of them are just made up script. just the truth!

  • This looks interesting. I'm actually impressed. Looking forward to seeing this. Keep it up!

  • I give you props for being an innovator.

  • brandon lee's character in the crow was also a MUSICIAN! please stop copying films that are WAYYYYY better ... makes hmong ppl look bad

  • NO WAY!!! Brandon Lee's character Eric Draven was a musician? Really? Wha?.. How could that happen? I thought that my movie was the ONLY movie ever made that had a musician as the main character! OH NO Supermusicman... what am I to do???

  • Supermusicman is right in 100%. I have seen THE CROW many times, because Brandon is Bruce Lee's son and I am a big fan of Bruce Lee. Brandon made only three movies in his life I believe. To my understanding of your point of view, your movie is for sure a copy of THE CROW or its' idea. Sorry brother.

  • I agree with you. Hmong people are not very creative. COPY COPY COPY.

  • First before you put down Hmong people, give me a name of a movie that is original. I guarantee that it's not original.

  • The Lord of the Ring. How about that?

  • Check out "Willow" or "Legend" or even the muppet's "Dark Crystal."

Do you think that The Crow is original? It's a well known Native American story! Check out the movie, "The Raggedy Rawny."

Look here dude, there are NO original stories left. They are all remakes of stories that have been told. It is HOW the story is told that matters.

  • @kangvang

ok DUDE , you can stop defending your copy-cat movie... there are original movies out there and then there are some that are copied... like yours.

  • this movie storyline is similar to "THE CROW" with brandon lee... even the MUSIC is similar. i'm not impressed.. come up with your own ideas please. if you're going to copy THE CROW, you should have a chicken in it and call it THE ROOSTER !

The sequeal to THE CROW is called CITY OF ANGELS.. gee what a coincidence to your title FALLEN CITY.

  • WOW! You are sooo smart! Putting together all those clues! Here is a doggie biscuit!

Do you think that The Crow is an original story? Hahahaha!!! You need to get out more. I mean, I LOOOOOVED the movie, and yes, it has influenced me as a filmmaker, however, this movie is quite different...

Also, why should it be called "The Rooster?" Why do you have to disrespect Hmong culture like that?

  • Tou and Mai movie sucked. I'm sure this one will too :(

    BOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!

Kang Vang, get some REAL actor's please.

  • Thanks for the support lady!

  • it's almost time

  • Hey, Kang, how r u, man? Love the cinematography work here. Check out my upcoming film also. It'll be release in November 2009 @ the HMong New Year! Keep up the great work! KIT.

  • Haha, I know one of those people. Great capture but I had no idea what it's going to be about.

  • the trailer looks like its going to be a good movie. something new.. different. but i'm confused, don't understand it. kind of hard to hear what some of the actors were saying.. but great job! keep it up :D

  • Hey it looks great! Though I don't get what the movie is about based on this trailer =) still very good!

  • hahahah kang vang is my nigga, great work! now lets talk about your next project shall we? no more scary stuff, straight up gangster popping na'meen.

  • why is it call "fallen city"? the trailer is confusing

  • aaah, i can't wait to see it!

    -mai yang xiong

  • Thanks. You are awesome.

  • So... does that mean you did get their permission, because it is a curious question.

  • Whats up with the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc? It confused me. Is this Hmong movie has been approved by that organization and it will be showing in the big screen theater through out the US. I am completely lost in here. By the way, I am not sure if I understand the story and its point of view. But, good job!

  • Thanks. You are awesome.

  • :D

    haha good job guys :)

Oh and Sike, i love you man!!! XD

  • Sloan, let's see if you can get your brother Sonny to star in opposite roles in the next film. I did not know that Bee Vang was your cousin. I guess the whole family, especially mom and dad are proud.

  • can't hear anything they're saying

  • I look forward to seeing this movie!!!! YEAH!!!! But you could have done better on the trailer...great job tho.

  • I love it, beautiful cinematography and as well timed as ever.

The story, so far, is very familiar though... did you mix in an old script with this?

Great job, I can't wait to see it!

  • nice i luv it..go kachyia..!

  • looks interesting...didn't really get the storyline, but still worth giving a shot.
