This warmup and the other warmup they show on the Rush in Rio DVD are far better than any solo he has ever done on stage. The fact that it's a 5 piece makes him be more inventive. He needs to lose those stupid electronic horns and shit that he uses in his stage solo.
i just watched beyond the lighted stage,and it was a great documentary. The documentary let you in peart's life a bit and neil has got to be one of, if not the hardest working drummer in the biz.

He loves what he does and absolutely has fun doing it.... he's just incredibly serious about even warming up the proper way. It's amazing that even after 20 years as one of the best drummers on the planet, he still goes to Freddy Gruber for lessons, and becomes even better. That's because he doesn't have himself on the same pedestal everyone else does... he still strives to get better. His stone face isn't because he's bored, but reflects his concentration on being perfect every time.
@Dmajorproductions and this practice kit available only for pro drummers like Neil Peart. I've been looking for a nice practice kit something like that for ages. Only i can find those which break after 6-12 months of my intense practice.
@slivovich A PureCussion Kit? I've seen them @ Guitar Center (California) since the 90's!!! If you have the money to afford one, sure you can have it! And let me tell ya, it sounds really fine when you stand close when its played!!! you hear the sound thin because is not the same a full-blown miking kit with professional mikes as opposed to a single electret, the one the camera had to pick up, placed at a distance, and behind a door! But you can tell it sounds great, nonetheless!

would be awesome if they played a joke on an audience and had that little kit rise up out of the drums stage, one mic hanging over top of it and he started playing a tune before the massive kit rises up behind him after,... then he switches to the big kit! everyone knows Niel for his massive kits,.. to see that little thin practice kit set up like that was what he was actually gonna play would be freakin funny!

That kit looks like it could be folded up and fit into a suitcase, man that would be so great to practise your songs on vacation or camping, can anyone post a link of a site that would sell a similar or same kit?

He loves what he does and absolutely has fun doing it.... he's just incredibly serious about even warming up the proper way. It's amazing that even after 20 years as one of the best drummers on the planet, he still goes to Freddy Gruber for lessons, and becomes even better. That's because he doesn't have himself on the same pedestal everyone else does... he still strives to get better. His stone face isn't because he's bored, but reflects his concentration on being perfect every time.

@Dmajorproductions and this practice kit available only for pro drummers like Neil Peart. I've been looking for a nice practice kit something like that for ages. Only i can find those which break after 6-12 months of my intense practice.

@slivovich A PureCussion Kit? I've seen them @ Guitar Center (California) since the 90's!!! If you have the money to afford one, sure you can have it! And let me tell ya, it sounds really fine when you stand close when its played!!! you hear the sound thin because is not the same a full-blown miking kit with professional mikes as opposed to a single electret, the one the camera had to pick up, placed at a distance, and behind a door! But you can tell it sounds great, nonetheless!
